Would you or Woudn't You?
If you could know the date of your death in advance would you want to know? I would. And the night before that date I would have a king hell katy bar the door event to celebrate my imminent demise. What say you?

Yeah, but think of all the time you would have to spend preparing. Better to stick the kids with cleaning out the junk and having the yard sale.

That's the thing; you might die tonight or tomorrow. It could be a drunk driver careening over the line into your life or it could be a crazy person with a gun and no target. I'd still want to know ahead of time. Not that I have a fortune to leave anyone or that my affairs are not in order; just that having that knowledge would allow me to do what I might not otherwise do or just allow me to sit back and wait for it.billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 6:23 pmYeah, but think of all the time you would have to spend preparing. I spelled "wouldn't" incorrectly for the title of this and will regret it for the rest of my life.

I wouldn't mind knowing the date. I've always thought that if I was told I had, say, six months to live I'd make my greatest effort to enjoy it. Eat all the stuff I haven't been eating (to be more healthy, of course and clearly did not work), drink lots of good wine, and make every day as good as I could for someone I care about. But we've already cleaned up the junk, got rid of the houses and stuff, got all the paperwork in order, and prepared instructions for the executor. Hypothetically, I suppose a person might also choose to use that time planning something no sane person would try, like ridding the world of a dangerous despot like Hitler or somebody similar.

Well, that was my original thought about all this; you may have years to go or you may have a couple of weeks. Either way, knowing ahead of time would allow one to make plans, go berserk, sit and ponder your past, or whatever. I think the worst thing would be winning a several million dollar lottery and not being able to enjoy it because you die on Tuesday, before the money is deposited.O Really wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 6:38 pmI wouldn't mind knowing the date.
