Single hurricane thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Update: it was 8 barges. These assholes just knocked off work on Friday as on any other Friday.

... Just curious, you search Wiki using: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/
I search it using: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ , without the extra ".m"

Your way:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_At ... ane_season
My way:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_Atla ... ane_season

Your way doesn't bother me a bit, but I think the latter looks better and is maybe more user friendly. Is there a reason you prefer your way?
glad to hear it's only the computer.
I'm not sure that I understand your question. I don't search Wikipedia either way. Dots and dashes and abbreviations seem so complicated. I just enter whatever I'm looking for followed by wiki. wik would probably work. If this is wrong, somebody tell me.
Thanks.

Not "wrong", mostly just aesthetics.

Glad you survived Sally, sorry about the bridge. Seems like lots of folks were surprised by the intensity and late shift to the east. Some people never learn.

We got a fair bit of Sally rain, thanks a lot  , and Beta - first Greek alphabet TS to ever make landfall here - rain is on the way. Greenville, SC - very close to me - is 2 feet over average for the year. The Atlantic hurricane season lasts through November 30. :angry-banghead:

Watch out for "Zombie" Paulette. She's a TS again, and aimed at the Caribbean.

I'm still confused about the wiki searches and the errant "m".
Do you type out the full en.Wikipedia.org ... to do a search?

I sometimes follow a word with "wiki" or highlight a word and click web search -

Thus a Google of " vrede wiki" produces several links. After looking at the 1st one, I click the "share" icon and then select "copy", then paste here.

Same with web search

I don't ever search that way. Either I google and choose the Wiki option if it's appropriate, or I go to my https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page bookmark and enter my search term in the upper right box. The latter takes me to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vrede .

Again, it's no biggie and I don't care what you do. I just thought you might like my way more.

Looks like Paulette fizzled. No potential threats out there, first time in weeks.

I'm just curious why your results are different. We are searching the same way.

I don't think so. It looks like you search "_____ wiki" while I go to Wiki and then search, or I just google "_____".

Tropical Storm Gamma - Texas?

Potential Tropical Cyclone Twenty-Six - Cat 2 to New Orleans, or Pensacola?

Tropical Depression Sixteen - Cat 2 to Japan?

Now TD Gamma is still soaking the Yucatan.

Now, the Yucatan will get walloped again by Cat 3 Delta. After that, it's still a Cat 3 aimed at poor LA. 2020 hat trick for the state.

Japan MAY largely dodge the Chan-Hom bullet.

Now it's up to 28 barges loose or sunk and at least 6 months to make repairs.

God to red states and red FL Panhandle: Can you hear me now?

Water dissolving and water removing
There is water at the bottom of the ocean
Remove the water, carry the water
Remove the water from the bottom of the ocean
Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by, water flowing underground
Into the blue again, after the money's gone ...

You may ask yourself, where does that highway lead to?

Knock on wood. Poor Yucatan.

Currently predicted to still be a TS straight through Hooterville and all the way to the DE coast.

Now Cat 1 slamming straight into New Orleans at 1900 CDT, straight at me and Whack9's NJ family, never becomes a TD before hitting the DE coast.
