I think the biggest crowd in the history of US politics was the anti-PINO Women's March the day after his inauguration. It was certainly the biggest since he started running for office;

NC is East Coast and is pretty good at counting ballots;
Even if SC and/or GA flips it will be too close to call for awhile;
FL and PA are usually slow to report results.

We could know that Biden has won the US soon after the NC polls close. If NC goes for PINO , we'll still be in the dark. 45SHOLE needs it plus many other battlegrounds to break his way.

Early voting was way easy here. Tons of volunteers, probably more than they needed, mostly old folks outside directing parking, mostly young folks inside assisting voting. I was able to park right in front and there was no line at all.

We have new machines. The old one would generate a paper record, but it would stay in the machine. With the new machines one reviews their picks in the machine and then prints out a paper ballot which one can also review. Then, you walk the paper ballot over to a person that places it in the ballot box. I like it, not all that much different from an all paper ballot except that there's no possibility of making confusing marks.

In most years I might vote for a Repug if the Dem is lacking, or vote for a Libertarian or Green if a Dem is running unopposed. This year there are no unopposed Dems and I figure that any 2020 Repug is a shameless asshole. So, I voted straight Dem in contested races. Some Repugs are running unopposed for district judges, a county commissioner and court clerk. I didn't vote in those races or in an unopposed nonpartisan Soil and Water District race.

We have a bunch of state agency races. The 2 most important, Gov and AG, should be easy Dem wins and the pundits think the Dems will do well overall.

We have 3 contested Supreme Court races and 5 contested Court of Appeals races. I did not look up incumbency. The Dems currently have a 1-seat majority. I don't know of any predictions.

The only race where I did any research is for School Board, choosing 4 from among 8 candidates. 2 that I chose are the incumbents running and the Board's CV-19 response has been decent. I did not sweat over it much, we'll see.
