President Donald Trump lost a federal lawsuit Saturday while his attorney was arguing his case before a skeptical Wisconsin Supreme Court in another lawsuit that liberal justices said “smacks of racism” and would disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters only in the state's most diverse counties.
U.S. District Judge Brett Ludwig, a Trump appointee, dismissed Trump's federal lawsuit asking the court to order the Republican-controlled Legislature to name Trump the winner over Democrat Joe Biden. The judge said Trump's arguments “fail as a matter of law and fact.” ...
Is it funny or sad that this is still an active thread?
Two MAGAs die and go to heaven. God asks them if they have any questions before he passes judgement. One MAGA asks God "Who really won the 2020 election?" God Responds "Biden won". The MAGAs turn to one another and say "Wow, the conspiracy to steal the election from Trump goes much higher than we thought".
Within two years, or less, it will be "Trump who?"
The media, of all stripes, created the invincible Trump, at least in part because of legitimizing his every false word. If all major national newspapers and tv networks had said back in 2016 "we don't recognize tweets as official statements and will not report, repeat, or publish them" things would have been a lot different.
The NC SUPREME COURT CHIEF JUSTICE recount did not result in a change. The Repug won by 401 votes out of nearly 5.4M cast . The Repugs swept every statewide judicial race, 8 of them. The Democrats had a 6-1 majority on the Supreme Court. They will now have a 4-3 Democratic majority.
The North Carolina Court of Appeals was 8 Democrats and 7 Republicans. I'm not sure how much the 5 Repug wins affects that balance.
The Repugs gained 4 seats in our state house.
It was 65 - 55 Repug.
It's now 69 - 51 Repug.
The Repugs lost 1 seat in our state senate.
It was 29 - 21 Repug.
It's now 28 - 22 Repug.
Could be worse. The courts are a bit more con and the executive is unchanged. Repugs still control the Leg, but without exclusive ability to overturn Gov vetoes.
It's a shame any judicial body is partisan. Sure, everybody has a right to be in a party and vote how they like, but judicial elections shouldn't be officially partisan.

I have mixed feelings. I agree with you in principle, but I find that nonpartisan judicial candidates present themselves as too neutral to decide, and resumes are often of limited utility. So, without partisan labels or personal knowledge I've usually relied on endorsements that are pretty synonymous with party, anyhow.
It's murkier at the state level when nonpartisan, but with the federal bench we pretty much know who's lib and con without any party designation, regardless.

Sure, but wearing a party label requires too much baggage anymore. If you present as a "Republican" or "Democrat" you're expected to subscribe to the whole litany of ideological viewpoints, many if not most will ever likely be a significant issue in your legal rulings. The law is what it is - rule accordingly, within the law as it exists at the time of decision, whether or not you think that's what the law ought to be.
wow I hope the new attorney general/QAnon Commander has a great three weeks on the job!
But Q assured me that Barr was part of the plan. What happened?!?!
If you're gonna fire your attorney general for the second time, you might as well make it festive
Bill Barr lighting his once mediocre reputation as an inoffensive party hack on fire to spend a few years enabling a shitty dictator and covering up the crimes of the dumbest people on the planet before getting fired by tweet is a good metaphor for the Republican Party
I like how quickly they turn on each other when they don't fall in line. Donald Trump shared this tweet because Brian Kemp didn't fall in line. That's what you get for tethering yourself to a narcasisstic asshole. No sympathy.
