2020 Election Results..... here we go.....

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

It's really bizarre.

Think about this - targeted content of social media has placed most people in information silos leading to a lot of this madness we see today.

Many people are migrating over to things like Parler, OANN, and Newsmax, which are even more silo'd from the rest of the world, because other outlets aren't telling them what they want to hear.

I'm willing to wager the next four years are going to be even more intense than the last as far as misinformation is concerned. It's going to be a scary ride.

It's not just the uninformed and gullible masses, either.

Long Lines Form for Early Voting in Georgia Senate Runoff

I hesitate to predict, but I'm starting to think that Dems Ossoff and Warnock could win. Whoever wins, I will guess that Ossoff does better than Warnock.

I like how quickly they turn on each other when they don't fall in line. Donald Trump shared this tweet because Brian Kemp didn't fall in line. That's what you get for tethering yourself to a narcasisstic asshole. No sympathy.

We have always heard of people like this. These clowns with their multiple bogus lawsuits crowd the legitimate cases out of their place in the courts. They know their cases are bullshit and are only hoping for an occasional settlement to pay the bills.

But they have always operated on the fringe before. The 2000 SC Gore v bush case involved the very cream of constitutional lawyers.

But this is something wholly different. Never has there been this level of incompetence. These guys may be tops but as all you farmers know, before you get to the cream it takes a little practice to skim the layer of scum off the top in order to get to the cream.

From the wiki link

"The judge suggested that Wood and Powell's motive for filing the case was not to win, but to shake "people's faith in the democratic process and their trust in our government".[29]

Wood has claimed without evidence that Trump won the presidential election with 70% of the vote.[30] While litigating on Trump's behalf, he has falsely asserted to the media and in court that more votes were cast in Michigan during the 2020 presidential election than the entire population of eligible voters in the state, a conclusion he drew from a mistaken comparison of the Michigan vote total with Minnesota population data.[31]"

What happens if a senator objects to Biden's win?

My understanding: if a member of both houses objects to the electoral count the vote for the presidency goes to the House where each state gets one vote. The senate votes for vp.

And we all get screwed.

No, it goes to debate in each chamber and needs a majority to just approve debate. No majority, no debate.

Carry on.

January 6th:

https://ballotpedia.org/Can_members_of_ ... %3F_(2020)
Once a House member and Senator submit an objection, the two chambers of Congress separate to debate for two hours and to vote on whether to continue counting the votes in light of the objection. Both chambers must vote by a simple majority to concur with the objection for it to stand, otherwise the objection fails.
Whelp, looks like this has no chance of working. Even if the Senate confirmed the objection, the house is majority Democrat. No simple majority will be obtained in the house, meaning the objection will fail.

This is the next step the MAGAs are banking on, and it's going to fail as well.

After this they're gonna call on Trump to invoke the insurrection act.

Probably what's going to happen when Trump gets the boot: he's going to continue to claim he's the rightful president and be a pain in the ass destabilizing the US.

Good. I really didn't know - other than I keep seeing that randi Paul was considered to be the one senate vote needed to turn the election decision over to congress. Then I heard on the local Mobile channel that tubby plans to be that man.

Edit: as many times as I've seen this, this is the first I've heard that both houses would have to agree.
Yeah, it's over trump, now run along to putin with the PDBs.

Highly Anticipated Senate Runoff In Georgia Shatters Early Voting Records

... As early voting kicked off on Monday, it was evident voters knew the gravity of the moment. Election officials in Richmond County, which includes Augusta, said on Monday that one of the county’s major voting centers recorded 2,022 in-person voters by 5 p.m., marking a single-day record for early voting.

On Tuesday morning, election officials in Muscogee County also said they are expecting their early voter numbers for the runoff to match records notched in the November races. More than 3,400 people voted in Muscogee County on Monday, according to Muscogee County Elections Office Supervisor Nancy Boren.
Not definitive since only 2 counties are named, but Richmond County went 67.9% for Joe and Muscogee County went 61.5% for Joe in Nov.
https://www.politico.com/2020-election/results/georgia/
Additionally, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced in November that more than 762,000 absentee ballots have been requested for the runoffs, also marking a record. The state allows voters to cast ballots by mail without providing a reason for not doing so in person....
Also not definitive, but in Nov the absentee votes were mostly Dem. Almost 5M total votes were cast in Nov.

So, nothing to bet the farm on yet, but it's all good news so far.

All former presidents continue to receive the President's Daily Briefs. So trump/putin will know what Joe's knows.

There are several potentially destructive benefits that trump will get unless congress acts to stop it. Unlimited postage may not seem that bad until you consider the extreme that trump could take it.
Are there limits on office and staff if he sends out 100 million campaign mailers for repug candidates every day? You and I pay his (my understanding) unlimited postage.

I wonder if that's by law or tradition. If the latter, Joe can order a change.

Cheerful facts:

33.3% of eligible voters did not care enough to vote;
Of those that voted, 46.9% (74,216,747) chose former PINO and only 51.3% chose Joe;
This works out to 65.8% (nearly 2/3) of eligible voters NOT being our allies.
We suck.

Just mind-ambling, but doesn't it seem strange (sarcasm) that "fraud" only happened in states Biden won? Suppose there was a wide-spread, great Democratic conspiracy with the means to create and/or alter ballots. Would those efforts really be limited only to PA, et. al.? Given that everybody expected a close race, would those efforts surely not have been made in Florida and NC, also? Yet there are crickets about fraud there. Seems more likely it was extensive "fraud" that somehow got 70 million votes tallied for Trump.

Maybe 35 million nutjobs voted twice like trump suggested they do a couple months ago. That is about as likely as what the nutjobs are squawking about.

Also, Powell suggested Trump could declare martial law.

The VERY thing people were afraid Obama would do.

So much for the 2A dipshits.
