Fuckin' Brady. I sometimes wonder if he allows a 17 point deficit to develop just so he can eat it for lunch.

How bad is NFC East, you ask?
The last-place team in three other divisions would be in second, one game out of the lead if they were in NFC East.

:D And, the third place team in four other divisions would be leading the NFC East or tied for the lead.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/standings

After the Giants loss :( , DC still "leads" the "division" with a 6-8 record. The division "winner" is guaranteed to not have a winning record  . All but one 6-8 team, the Vikings, have been eliminated from the Wild Card races. Otoh, the entire NFC East can still grab its "leader" slot.

Halftime:
Pittsburgh Steelers (11-2, 5-1 Away) 0
Cincinnati Bengals (2-10-1, 2-4 Home) 17
:confusion-scratchheadblue:

The Steelers are already in the playoffs, but they're still playing for a home game and even a 1st round bye. I like the Steelers, but I also like seeing failures regain a little dignity.

Steelers 17
Bengals 27

After starting 11-0 Pittsburgh loses three in a row, and it scored less than 20 four games in a row for the first time since Big Ben was a rookie. Someone broke the Steelers at the worst possible time.

NFL Playoff Standings 2020

@Lions (5-9, 1-5 home) > Buccaneers (9-5, 5-2 away)
Go Bears, maybe.

Go Bears!

8:15 PM ET NFL network

Hmmm, I like the Ravens more than the Dolphins, but the Dolphins more than TN or the Colts -0-? . Go football!
Alvin Kamara ties NFL record with 6 rushing TDs in New Orleans Saints' 52-33 win

Alvin Kamara went dashing through the Minnesota Vikings' defense on Friday with a Christmas Day performance for the ages.

Kamara ran for six touchdowns -- tied for the most in NFL history with Ernie Nevers of the Chicago Cardinals in 1929 -- as the New Orleans Saints clinched their fourth straight NFC South title with a 52-33 victory in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

According to the NFL Record and Fact Book, Nevers' milestone was tied for the league's longest-standing record.

Kamara, who was decked out in a pair of Christmas-themed, green-and-red cleats that will probably draw a fine, is only the fourth player to score six TDs of any kind in a game, joining Nevers, Dub Jones (1951) and Gale Sayers (1965), according to ESPN Stats and Information research....

In the process, Kamara also set a franchise record with 21 touchdowns on the season. He registered a personal best with 155 rushing yards in a game, and he now has a career-high 932 rushing yards and 1,688 yards from scrimmage this season.

He also established a career high with 83 catches on the season -- ending his unusual streak of exactly 81 catches in each of his first three seasons. Kamara was named to his fourth Pro Bowl earlier this week....

New Orleans took advantage of Minnesota's injury-depleted defense by running for 264 yards -- the Saints' second-highest total since 1986....

The Vikings (6-9) were eliminated from playoff contention in defeat....

 I double jinxed the Lions. Unhurt Brady pulled at the half. Backup Blaine Gabbert throws a 25 yd TD to uncovered (?!) Rob Gronkowski on his first play. 0-41 a minute into the 3rd!
Tom Brady records biggest half of his career, Buccaneers' TD record

Forget the slow starts that have eluded Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season.

With a playoff berth on the line Saturday for the first time since 2007, the 43-year-old quarterback threw four touchdowns in the first half against the Detroit Lions, with Leonard Fournette tacking on a fifth on the ground, giving the Bucs a franchise-record 410 total yards. It was the most first-half yards by any NFL team since 2010.

Brady's 348 passing yards were also the most of his career for a first half and second-most of any half (367, second half vs 49ers in 2012), according to ESPN Statistics & Information.

Brady found Rob Gronkowski on a fade route for a 33-yard touchdown on the opening possession -- the pair's 96th all-time touchdown connection. It was the first time the Bucs had scored a touchdown on the opening drive since Week 4, and it marked Brady's 33rd touchdown for the Bucs' this season, tying Jameis Winstons' 2019 mark for most touchdowns in a Buccaneers' single season....

Brady joins Baker Mayfield as the only quarterbacks with four passing touchdowns in a half this season (Mayfield has done it twice). This is the first time since 2014 Brady has had at least four touchdown passes in the first half of a game, according to ESPN Statistics & Information. And including the playoffs, it's the seventh time in Brady's career he has at least four touchdown passes in the first half of a game.
Tom Brady: C/ATT 22/27, YDS 348, AVG 12.9, TD 4, INT 0, SACKS 1-7, RTG 158.3!

GOAT.

Bears do, but they've got to win out against the Pack in week 17 or hope the Cards lose to the Rams.

Good game. LV Traitors are eliminated.

GO:

Falcons > @Chiefs (yeah right). TV here. Chiefs are trying to lock up the 1st round bye, otherwise meaningless  .

4:25 PM ET
Eagles > @Cowboys. Still in it :D .
@Seahawks > Rams. Win the NFC West! TV here  .

8:20 PM ET
@Packers > Titans.

Could end the day with 5 AFC teams at 10-5 vying for 4 playoff slots - Titans, Browns, Colts, Dolphins and Ravens. The Titans have the tiebreaker over the Colts for the AFC South slot, but otherwise I have no idea how the complex WC tiebreakers will work. Week 17 could be interesting. I don't care between the Titans and Colts, and hope the lesser of them is excluded from the playoffs.

I want the Eagles or Giants to win the NFC East. The Buccs already have a WC slot  . I'm rooting for the Bears to win another and am ambivalent between the Cards and Rams for the final one.

I find myself in the very weird position of sort of rooting for the Pack.

They win tonight they lock up home field and have nothing to play for next week and may rest starters.

Then again, the bastards will probably play the starters cause they could knock the Bears out and it's a Bears Packers game.

Assholes.
