I find myself in the very weird position of sort of rooting for the Pack.

They win tonight they lock up home field and have nothing to play for next week and may rest starters.

Then again, the bastards will probably play the starters cause they could knock the Bears out and it's a Bears Packers game.

Assholes.
Anticipatory "Assholes"?

I have mixed feelings. I want the Seahawks to have a shot at the bye and permanent home field, but a Titans loss helps the Ravens. I'm sticking with rooting for the Packers. Not that it matters, they're already up 19-0 despite missing 2 PATs and a FG.

@Packers > Titans.

Could end the day with 5 AFC teams at 10-5 vying for 4 playoff slots - Titans, Browns, Colts, Dolphins and Ravens. The Titans have the tiebreaker over the Colts for the AFC South slot, but otherwise I have no idea how the complex WC tiebreakers will work. Week 17 could be interesting. I don't care between the Titans and Colts, and hope the lesser of them is excluded from the playoffs.

Currently, the Colts are out  . All the Titans, Browns, Dolphins and Ravens have to do next week is win and they're in.

Lots of Week 17 meaningful games still.

GO:

1:00 PM ET

Dolphins > @Bills. Nothing against the Bills, but I want the Dolphins in and to help keep the Titans or Colts out of the playoffs.
Ravens > @Bengals, of course.
@Browns > Steelers. Nothing against the Steelers, but I want the Browns in and to help keep the Titans or Colts out of the playoffs. TV here.
Jets > @Patriots. Continue the winning streak!
@Giants > Cowboys. Send them home. TV here.
Falcons > @Buccaneers, in case it gives the Rams a better WC seed than the Buccs.

4:25 PM ET
@Bears > Packers. Lock up that playoff slot.
Jaguars > @Colts. Send them home, and ease the 'loser' burden.
Cardinals vs @Rams. Loser goes home? I have no preference. TV here.
Seahawks > @49ers. #1 seed still possible?
@Panthers > Saints. Nothing against the Saints, but go Seahawks! TV here, 4 daytime games!!!
@Texans > Titans.

8:20 PM ET
@Eagles > Washington. Send them home.

Ugh, might go home. The Titans are in and the door is open for the Colts.
Ravens > @Bengals, of course.
Crushed them! In the playoffs.
@Browns > Steelers. Nothing against the Steelers, but I want the Browns in and to help keep the Titans or Colts out of the playoffs. TV here.
Barely, 24-22. In the playoffs, but Steelers were weakened - voluntary, injury & CV-19. Might not bode well.
Jets > @Patriots. Continue the winning streak!
Nope, not that it matters.
@Giants > Cowboys. Send them home. TV here.
Barely. Playoffs? Go @Eagles > Washington!
Falcons > @Buccaneers, in case it gives the Rams a better WC seed than the Buccs.
Fuckin' Brady: 26-41, 399 YDS, 4 TD.

I'm 3-3. Vikings 37, @Lions 35. Good, meaningless game.

Nice, barely.

Packers take #1, anyhow.

Nope.

8 and 8, backdoor into the playoffs.

How very 2020, but life for one more week then probable death by Drew Brees.

It's hard to beat a GOAT. Good luck.
Rams @Seahawks where Seahawks beat them 2 weeks ago. Cool.
Buccs travel to 7-9 DC or 6-10 NYG  . I can dream - go NYG, fuck GOAT Brady. I'd have to think about Buccs vs DC.

Lots more balance in the AFC, anything can happen in any game.
Ravens @Titans. Go Ravens!
Browns @Steelers. They're 1-1 this year. I like both, but the Browns have waited longer.
Colts @Bills. Go Bills.

Vegas Odds

1:05 PM CBS, Bills favored by 6.5.
4:40 PM Fox, Seahawks favored by 3. I would make that bet on the Seahawks to cover.
8:15 PM NBC, Buccs favored by 9! I still can't decide, go football.

Somebody, maybe the Bucs coach, was making the point that although the team formerly known as 'Skins may be 7-9 overall, that they are 4-1 when Smith starts, thus extrapolates to a theoretically 12-3 if Smith had been there all season. I don't know if that reasoning is valid or not, but it looks like Smith may not start, may not play, or at least isn't 100%. Team formerly known as 'Skins is likely doomed. I like Rivera, and can't help but admire Smith and wish him well, but as long as that turd Snyder is owner I just can't seem to get away from the foul smell.

Agreed.
I like Rivera.
I admire Smith.
Snyder is a turd.

Fwiw, Smith's wins:
Bengals: 4-11-1
Cowboys: NFC East
Steelers: Was during the Steelers' late season slump, but count it as a solid win.
Eagles: NFC East

Smith's loss:
Lions: 5-11

Games Smith didn't start but ended up being the primary QB:
Win, but played very poorly - 49ers: 6-10
Lost - Giants: NFC East

Agreed, suburban DC is likely doomed, but embarrassing Brady won't ruin my day, either.

Scrappy Colts beat the spread, but the Bills barely hung on to win their first playoff game since 1995. Cool. On what planet does it make more sense for the Colts to throw a Hail Mary rather than let their PK try what would admittedly be a career long OT-forcing 55 yd FG?

65 yds
But I agree the chances would have been better than the HM. Apparently Mary wasn't interested.

Oh well. Rivers' family is probably happy their palatial home here hasn't sold yet.

Ah, I misheard. Thanks. It's not crazy to assume that your PK would never best his best by 12 yds. I guess that explains why Mary didn't even reach the end zone.

Wow, the Seattle game started slow but got crazy the last couple of minutes. Losing by just 13-10.

Terrible Colts play calling/execution on their last drive.

Tony Dungy should never be allowed in a booth.

Not only did someone pay $$ for The design on the Buc uniforms, someone else was paid to say "hey, these are good".
