No, but I do enjoy background/history of some music. YouTube often kicks up songs I haven't thought of in years - some come with memories, some not. "Popsicles" was one with memories and I wondered whatever happened to the group. No memories were included with "Valley Girl" but it, like "Barbie Doll" were silly enough to be entertaining. "MacArthur Park" has been recorded by everybody from Donna Summer to the Four Tops to Frank Sinatra. It was written by Jimmy Webb about the end of his relationship with Susan Ronstadt, sister of Linda. The song was originally part of a longer piece that ran for 22 minutes, which is why the Association turned it down.
Richard Harris chopped the track down to seven minutes and released it as a single in 1968. He screwed up by repeatedly singing "MacArthur's Park," a mistake that was later copied by Donna Summer in her famous remake. Yes, it's a little stupid that he uses the analogy of a cake out in the rain to describe his ruined relationship, but it's not a terrible song.
Case in point: check out Weird Al Yankovic's "Jurassic Park" parody. It's an under-appreciated classic. Sample lyric: "Jurassic Park is frightening in the dark/All the dinosaurs are running wild/Someone shut the fence off in the rain/I admit it's kind of eerie/But this proves my chaos theory."
So when they pass around the ballots for best female guitarist, I'm going with Nancy Wilson...
I saw them the first time in 1978 or 1979. She played that, leather pants and all and was gloriously backlit. I fell in love and haven't fallen out since.
Btw, she's a terrific vocalist also.

2016–present: Hiatus, side projects, and reunion Edit
On the morning of August 27, 2016, Ann's husband Dean Wetter was arrested and subsequently pleaded guilty to assaulting Nancy's 16-year-old twin sons after the boys had left the door to his RV open. The incident took place during a Heart performance at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, Washington, the previous night.[95][96] Although the band played the remaining 2016 tour dates that were already booked, the Wilson sisters only spoke to one another through third parties for the remainder of the tour.[97] The pair's relationship was strained by the incident; an April 2017 article in Rolling Stone reported that although they remained on amicable terms, they had not spoken to one another since the 2016 tour ended, and only sporadically contacted one another through text messaging.[97]
Following the end of the tour in October 2016, the sisters opted to tour with their own side-project bands.[97] In April 2017, Ann described Heart as being on hiatus, although both sisters claimed the band had not permanently disbanded.[97]
In February 2019, Heart announced that their hiatus had ended and that they would embark on the Love Alive tour in the summer.[5] In March 2019, both sisters reunited on stage for the first time since the band went on hiatus, at the Love Rock NYC benefit concert.[98] Although Ann and Nancy were reuniting, the former Heart members who had joined Nancy's solo effort were not invited back and the new lineup consisted of Ann's touring band, replacing Ben Smith on drums, Dan Rothchild on bass, and Chris Joyner on keyboards.[99] In June 2019, the band announced that the Love Alive tour had been extended through October 2019.[100]

I only saw them once, in 1976 just as they were starting to get big. They were fine, but not a great fit for a daytime, 1000-keg all the beer you could drink for $6 outdoor party. Jimmy Buffett and Jerry Jeff Walker went over better.
Though some artists had made video clips to accompany songs (including Queen themselves; for example, their earlier singles "Keep Yourself Alive", "Liar", "Seven Seas of Rhye" and "Killer Queen" already had "pop promos", as they were known at the time), it was only after the success of "Bohemian Rhapsody" that it became a regular practice for record companies to produce promotional videos for artists' single releases. These videos could then be shown on television shows around the world, such as the BBC's Top of the Pops, without the need for the artist to appear in person. A promo video also allowed the artist to have their music broadcast and accompanied by their own choice of visuals, rather than dancers such as Pan's People. According to May, the video was produced so that the band could avoid miming on Top of the Pops since they would have looked off miming to such a complex song. He also said that the band knew they would be set to appear at Dundee's Caird Hall on tour and unable to appear on the programme anyway. The video has been hailed as launching the MTV age.

All of the special effects were achieved during the recording, rather than editing. The visual effect of Mercury's face cascading away (during the echoed lines "Magnifico" and "Let me go") was accomplished by pointing the camera at a monitor, giving visual feedback, a glare analogous to audio feedback. The honeycomb illusion was created using a shaped lens. The video was edited within five hours because it was due to be broadcast the same week in which it was taped. The video was sent to the BBC as soon as it was completed and aired for the first time on Top of the Pops in November 1975. After a few weeks at number one, an edit of the video was created. The most obvious difference is the flames superimposed over the introduction as well as several alternative camera angles.
