Re: Sickophants
Yeah, it's sadly funny about the libraries. They were so scared of people catching covid from the books or somewhere, but it turns out the chances of getting covid from a book surface is negligible, and what risks there are can be managed. Our library in Oceanside opened up for what they call "grab and go" service. You can go in, browse, find your books, and check them out, but you can't' sit around and they don't have services they used to have like charging stations, comfortable seating (or any seating, actually) or coffee stands. They also let the returned books sit around in a tub for 3 days or so when they get them back. Mask rules are rigidly enforced. Check-out and entrance/exit all touch-free.

I don't like all that and refuse to participate. If I am going to read a book I want to inspect it in my hands and read the short bio of the author on the back flap as well as the summary of the book on the inside front cover before deciding if I want to read it. Besides, those treacherous library bastards might be smearing Covid all over those books they toss in your trunk. I've considered going down there and just parking and wait to catch them in the act but have not done so. There is a good book store that has a huge selection of new and used books but it's all the way on the other side of town in the currently dying former bustling mall so I may soon be heading over there.

Author bios and book blurbs are all available online.
You can leave the books in the trunk for a day and/or use disinfecting wipes on them.

Well, ok, but I just thought I'd do a little whining and take a turn at being a victim just to see what it's like. No, I realize you're correct in what you mentioned but I just don't want to go through the ordeal they've set up. I will wait until they open back up before going there. Anyway I've got plenty of shit to read around here. Hell, if nothing else I can break out the Bible and reprise some of my old favorites from that time tested tome. This is one of my favorites......"The second woe is past; and behold, the third woe cometh quickly." Speaking of total bullshitters:
So they acknowledge this was a pre-planned conspiracy
This is not as persuasive as you think at getting us to believe that Trump was trying to *avoid* violence when he told the crowd to go to the Capitol.
Um ... bro? You maybe want to take a look at what you just wrote.

Re: Sickophants
I liked it today when one of the trump "attorneys" brought up the reference to "Calvary" in some of the rioters tweets and stated that they were referring to the religious term.....a representation of the crucifying of Jesus, when in fact, those tweets were just examples of ignorant trumpaloons who just didn't know how to spell "cavalry." The trump philosophy of blatantly lying with a straight face is strong and dumbfounding.

Fingers crossed . . .Senator Graham's call with Georgia official part of election probe: Washington Post
A Georgia prosecutor plans to examine a phone call between U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham and Georgia's secretary of state as part of a criminal investigation into whether former President Donald Trump or his allies broke state law in trying to influence the results of the election, the Washington Post reported on Friday.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis will look into the call Graham made to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger 10 days after the Nov. 3 election, the Post reported, citing an unnamed person familiar with the probe.
Graham, a Republican and a close Trump ally, asked Raffensperger whether he had the power to toss out all mail ballots in certain counties, Raffensperger has told the Post.
Raffensperger said Graham appeared to be asking him to improperly find a way to set aside legally cast ballots, according to the newspaper....

Regular people frequently refer to Trump and his sickophants as "facists," possibly more intended as an insult rather than a description. Looks like it's a very accurate description too:
