College football trivia

Auburn once held possession of the ball for the entire 3rd quarter against Spurrier and SC, but only scored 3 points.

If they had listened to me, Tubs would still be coach and not in the running for dumbest senator and we would have never hired gus. He'll do fine coaching in the nobody conference.

Ran across this and thought I should share..
LSU was up by 20 something in the 4th quarter, but inexplicably kept passing.
5 interceptions later they lost.

Could a sore loser attitude have extended to the next lsu game at Auburn?

I watched Pistol Pete play in that building.

I watched Pistol Pete play in that building.
Supposedly Auburn tailgaiters.
... According to Auburn Deputy Fire Chief Matt Jordan, the building was ignited by a grill that was left underneath an overhang. No injuries occurred as a result of the fire.

"It was an old heart pine barn, and the grill had probably sat there for hours upon hours and reached that ignition temperature and it started to burn," Jordan said. "There were a couple things that changed game day operations, in my opinion, for Auburn University -- that fire being one of them and then the events surrounding Sept. 11. The way that our game day experience operates, there are still some of these undertones... The tailgating experience was completely different in 1996 than it is now." ...
It would be pretty dumb revenge to burn a building that "had already been scheduled for demolition" . . . but they are LSU fans :D . Lucky the wind was blowing away from the stadium.

It was a little scary. We were diagonally across the stadium and well out of danger, but were concerned for those close.

Of course it was likely accidental, but them Cajuns can be vindictive.
Not that it would have changed the game, but in Baton Rouge the year between the Interception game and the "Barn" burning, a whistle from the 1st row in the end zone caused Auburn to stop play in the End Zone. LSU didn't stop play and got a safety.

I'll bet.

Did Auburn get an insurance payout when it would have had to eat the entire cost of demolition and did the fire inspector retire wealthy?

I'm not at all sure that I would agree with that

I mean really disagree. They do have a music scene but there are no liberal Texas towns

Austin’s Mayor is a Dem civil rights lawyer.
Travis County, TX votes 71-26 Dem.
Rick Perry refers to it as a "blueberry in the tomato soup”.

Lee includes larger Opelika. Auburn is redded than it was 20 years ago, but has been a thorn similar to Austin. Wallace called Auburn all sorts of names and cut funding etc. so I guess I see blue when it may not be quite so blue.

Edit
Damn, Auburn is now bigger than Opelika. Things do change.

My new coach is a dick. I may be rooting for bammer this year.
While Saban is doing PSAs on Covid, bringing top doctors in to speak to the team and has all staff and over 90% of team vaccinated, my bosie dickhead excuse for a role model and coach is unvaccinated and is leaving all decisions up to the players.
It will serve his/us right if we lose a couple of big games due to his stupidity.

Here's to hoping enough key players test positive that we lose every game and run the MAGAt out of town.

In light of what could happen and in light of what jus happened in NC State baseball, how stupid can you be?

I'm pretty sure there are some teams that play a high quality of football that aren't named for a sea algae or plains-dwelling catbirds. You have my sympathies - as an alum of UNC and "the U" I have often found myself in need of alternate teams to root for.
