What a pathetic excuse for a father he is. I don't wish Covid on anyone, but he certainly is asking for it.

I'm unclear whether you are speaking in the voice of the daughter in the TikTok, the father or for yourself.
Edit: Ah, I listened closer to what he sobbed at the end. Never mind. Think this will get played at family reunions for decades to come?

Re: COVIDiots
Any anti-vaxxers in your family? I don't think there are any in mine.
Resistance to vaccine mandates is building. A powerful network is helping.
The Americans lodging complaints against coronavirus vaccine mandates are a diverse lot - a sheriff's deputy in North Carolina, nursing home employees in Wisconsin and students at the largest university in New Jersey.
But their resistance is woven together by a common thread: the involvement of a law firm closely tied to the anti-vaccine movement.
Attorneys from Siri & Glimstad - a New York firm that has done millions of dollars of legal work for one of the nation's foremost anti-vaccination groups - are co-counsel in a case against the Durham County Sheriff's Office. They've sent warning letters to officials in Rock County, Wis., as well as to the president of Rutgers University and other schools.
The legal salvos show that a groundswell against compulsory immunization is being coordinated, at least in part, from a law office on Park Avenue in midtown Manhattan. And they offer a window into a wide-ranging and well-resourced effort to contest vaccine requirements in workplaces and other settings critical to the country's reopening - a dispute with sweeping implications for public health, state authority and individual rights.
"The message is, 'Maybe you should reconsider because you don't want to end up in court,' " said Dorit Rubinstein Reiss, a professor at the University of California's Hastings College of the Law. "I think that works."
... At stake in this latest contest is whether hospitals, law enforcement agencies and others can require employees to take a vaccine that was made available in an expedited process permitted during a public health emergency - and, likewise, whether schools may require the shots for students, faculty and staff members in the same way many require familiar vaccines for measles and chickenpox. There is little case law on the matter, with only one vaccine, for anthrax exposure, previously cleared in a similar way....

I wonder how many of those holding or supporting the "Vaccine mandates violate bodily autonomy" are also anti-abortion, anti-drug decriminalization, anti-death with dignity, anti-sex workers, etc.

Everybody in our immediate (and slightly extended) family has had their shots. Don't know about the British branches, but of those I know, it seems unlikely any would be anti-vax. If any relatives were anti-vax, it's likely I wouldn't have been hanging with them anyway, for other reasons that would probably be obvious.

Re: COVIDiots
Darwin by the numbers:
The unseen covid-19 risk for unvaccinated people
... As more people receive vaccines, covid-19 cases are occurring mostly in the increasingly narrow slice of the unprotected population. So The Washington Post adjusted its case, death and hospitalization rates to account for that - and found that in some places, the virus continues to rage among those who haven't received a shot.
... adjustments for vaccinations show the rate among susceptible, unvaccinated people is 73% higher than the standard figures being publicized. With that adjustment, the national death rate is roughly the same as it was two months ago and is barely inching down. The adjusted hospitalization rate is as high as it was three months ago....
"They think it's safe to take off the mask. It's not," said Lynn Goldman, dean of the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University. "It looks like fewer numbers, looks like it's getting better, but it's not necessarily better for those who aren't vaccinated."
States with high rates among unvaccinated people
The adjusted rates in several states show the pandemic is spreading as fast among the unvaccinated as it did during the winter surge. Maine, Colorado, Rhode Island and Washington state all have covid-19 case spikes among the unvaccinated, with adjusted rates about double the adjusted national rate. The adjusted rates of Wyoming, West Virginia, Oregon, Florida, Michigan and Pennsylvania are slightly lower than the highest states.
Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia have adjusted rates below the national average. In the region, however, lower vaccination rates in the Black community have concentrated cases there to an extraordinary degree. Before vaccines, Black people were about one third of new covid-19 patients in Maryland and half in the District. In the latest data, Black people are just under half of the new cases in Maryland and more than 80% in the District....
States with high death rates
... Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maine, Florida and Illinois all have adjusted death rates about 50% higher than the national adjusted rate.
Looking at the death rate is not a good measure of the current spread of the pandemic, experts said, because it is a "lagging indicator" - people dying are usually infected at least a month earlier, which means deaths don't reflect current community spread of the disease. The steady adjusted death rate, however, shows that unvaccinated people are not yet getting safer.
People more likely to end up in the hospital
... When current hospitalizations are spread across only the unvaccinated population, the District and Michigan have rates about twice as high as the adjusted national rate. Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida and Rhode Island have rates about 50% higher than the adjusted national hospitalization rate.
Tale of two societies
Unvaccinated young adults in Maryland have the same infection rate as they had in the January surge, according to a state analysis. Even worse, the risk of hospitalization among the infected has more than doubled, possibly because of widespread coronavirus variants, said Ted Delbridge, executive director of the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems.
Washington state has been publicizing the extreme threat of hospitalization for unvaccinated people. It said unvaccinated seniors are 11 times as likely to get hospitalized than seniors who got the shot. For unvaccinated people age 45 to 64, the chance of covid-19 hospitalization is 18 times higher....
"The people who are not vaccinated are the ones who are not wearing a mask or washing their hands. Those are the very people who often times will socialize and be around similar like-minded people. You're going to have the pandemic continue in those clusters." ...

Re: COVIDiots
I felt much sympathy for those who by virtue of economic or social condition could not reasonably avoid covid. People like workers in California Central Valley who had to go to work, and work was crowded, and when they got home that was crowded too. They couldn't telecommute; they couldn't take leave; they weren't initially given much PPE type protection or workplace accommodation.
I felt much sympathy for those in nursing homes who are pretty much helpless and at the mercy of helpers who may have been in the same situation as the valley farm people.
I felt much sympathy for those who made an effort to avoid people, wash hands, wear masks, but for whatever reason caught covid through bad luck.
I feel zero sympathy for someone who has the opportunity for a vaccination and willfully and intentionally turns it down. They can all die miserably as far as I care. And in the states where they're trying to make it legal for doctors to refuse treatment to trans, etc., they ought to be able to refuse treatment to anti-vax fools too.

Sympathy and hate are both in a back pocket for me; you have to earn either one from me. And I'm not stingy when I whip it out. Since my vaccination, I've taken to sporting bright red lipstick instead of a mask; I hope to start a trend among those I feel sympathy for but don't really care if those I hate just die.

A pharmacist accused of trying to destroy hundreds of doses of coronavirus vaccine is a conspiracy theorist who believed the medication wasn't safe, Wisconsin authorities alleged Monday.
The man, Steven Brandenburg, 46, was ordered held in lieu of $10,000 bond by Ozaukee County Circuit Court Judge Paul Malloy during a brief appearance....
Brandenburg is an "admitted conspiracy theorist," and he "told investigators that he believed that Covid-19 vaccine was not safe for people and could harm them and change their DNA," Sutherland wrote....
