It's ok though, most cons totally agree with it and trust big government to throw you in jail forever without evidence. They just don't trust you with health care.
Question: Is it OK for other countries to imprison American citizens indefinitely without charges or trial?
The article makes it clear - at least 11 times - that the only complaint is about it happening to American citizens in America. Those who are not American citizens - say, a Canadian transiting from Europe to Canada through a New York airport or a European citizen kidnapped from Europe - can still be imprisoned indefinitely without charges or trial. (And/or shipped off-shore for torture, etc.)
I'm not talking about Iran or North Korea doing this to Americans. I'm talking about modern western allied democracies. Should thier civil rights protections for thier citizens apply to Americans visiting (willingly or unwillingly)?
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) introduced an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act that would prevent the indefinite detention of an American citizen. It was stripped in committee. Rand Paul is pissed.
“The decision by the NDAA conference committee, led by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) to strip the National Defense Authorization Act of the amendment that protects American citizens against indefinite detention now renders the entire NDAA unconstitutional,” Sen. Paul said in a statement.
“When the government can arrest suspects without a warrant, hold them without trial, deny them access to counsel or admission of bail, we have shorn the Bill of Rights of its sanctity,” the senator continued, noting that he voted against NDAA last year but supported the current version because of the Feinstein-Lee amendment.

Interesting question. That brought to mind the story of the Hendersonville man that murdered people in Panama and stole their property. link The last I heard about a year ago was that he and his wife are in prison in Panama and haven't been tried yet. I haven't heard anything since. I've been to Panama, and believe me, that's not a place I would want to run afoul of the law.
Maybe the U.S. told Panama that we don't want him either.
