Yes, IF there's ANY evidence that the vaccines are more dangerous than the disease. Otherwise, he's endangering millions of cancer survivors, which is more cruel than the average anti-vaxxer. Remember Herman Cain?GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 3:14 pmSame.Vrede too wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 3:06 pm600K dead, asshole.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 1:28 pmPiling on.

Crap, so many people that I used to like. Now I'm going to have to screen everyone for COVIDiocy.
Anthony Rizzo of the Cubs hasn't gotten it. His reason is as a cancer survivor it may affect his long term health. A little more understandable.

Yeah, but Cain was flaunting it and posting pics at the Tulsa Rally, a superspreader event at the height of the pandemic as well as having had stage IV cancer.
Rizzo was just asked and answered a question.

Sorry, I just meant that Cain was a cancer victim that COVID killed. Trumpettes ALWAYS make things worse. If Rizzo's answer gives other victims or survivors needless pause, he would own any of their resultant illnesses or deaths. He always had the, "No comment," option.

This is tragic for early survivors, but for anti-vaxxers it means that they will get dumber than they already are and thus even more likely to watch Faux Noise.

Goddamn, what's dumber than dumb? Oh, I forgot there's dumb and dumber. Those clowns at CPF and LNF are well on their way and they love it. I think I suggested somewhere else that those big bore lunatics commit suicide and not get vaccinated. They've likely obliged half of my suggestion. Here's to the other part of it. Numb dumb.Vrede too wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 4:12 pmFaux Noise:

I understand that scientists and lawyers are hesitant to speak in absolute terms when there is a reasonable (even tiny) chance of exception, but c'mon. They're going to have to make it more simple if they want any chance of covidiots understanding:
"If you're vaccinated, the pandemic is over - enjoy your life"
"If you're not vaccinated, you're at higher risk than you were during all of 2020 and will get scorn instead of sympathy if you get sick"

I have no more fucks left to give for anybody over 12 who goes unvaxxed and gets - or dies from - covid. And if I were an insurance company and found out that they had refused an available vax, I'd deny benefits.

Re: COVIDiots
I'm OK with a few morons refusing the vaccine for religious reasons. But in my day, everyone got smallpox vaccinated soon after birth, and polio vaccine later. I was lucky, by the time they got to me, instead of an unsightly pox mark on my upper arm, I got it just below the belt (no, not there). Still it beats getting small pox.
I have little to no sympathy for the "anti-vaxxers", and not because I worked in an immunology research lab for some years. The risks of covid vaccination are truly minimal, barely above what the unvaccinated population might get. But the risks of not getting covid vaccinated are much more serious.
Here in California they are offering all sorts of incentives to the unvaccinated to get the jab. I'm slightly envious of the rewards, but I'd rather have been vaccinated like I was, back in February. Unfortunately while California stands a good chance of 70% getting at least one jab by July 4, some other states are falling far behind.
Of course it depends on how the data is compiled. For adults (over 16), California is about 75% getting at least one shot, and about 60% fully vaccinated. These stats drop if it's compared to the total population (including children), the numbers drop to about 60% and 48%.
https://abc7.com/covid-vaccine-californ ... e/9567632/In California there have been 48,498,755 vaccine doses distributed, 41,189,877 (about 84.9%) doses have been given out, and 23,582,084 people (about 59.7% of the total population) have received at least one dose. About 47.7% of the total population is fully vaccinated.
About 75.4% of the over 16 population have received at least one dose, and about 60.2% of the over 16 population is fully vaccinated.

Re: COVIDiots
It used to be old/diseased people were dying from covid. Then, when old people starting SITFHs and wearing masks, it was hitting the 20-40 group because they were still going out, hanging in crowds, etc. The the vaccination came along and it hits the unvaxxed. Wouldn't it be delightful to hear them say covid has largely been eliminated except as a disease of the right-wing stupid.

Re: COVIDiots
The thing I got from the video I posted is that viruses in general, and especially covid, have no intelligence, motive, or behavior. They just are. They mutate as a result of RNA transcription errors, and if that mutation enables the virus to spread and conquer better, then it will become predominant. The key is to stop transmission, which in a respiratory virus like covid could be extremely difficult. Think of the common cold, which for multiple reasons has never gone away. In large part because it's rarely if ever fatal. But covid is bad news and it needs to go away. We need to change our behavior to make it go away. Vaccination is the best way we have right now to do that. Yes, there is a new substance out that quite effectively can kill covid, but it's not finished with its clinical trials so we don't know what its side effects are. It could prove to be worse than covid, or it could be the silver bullet. Most likely somewhere in between, like most in this world.O Really wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 10:20 pmIt used to be old/diseased people were dying from covid. Re: COVIDiots
The other side of the vaccine story...
Because rich nations have basically snapped up most of the vaccines made, even though the rich countries have about 20% of the world's human population, Covid continues to spread in the rest of the globe, mutating as it goes. The virus does not care how rich or poor you are. In fact it doesn't have the ability to care. It just replicates, and mutates, as much as it can. What it means is that until we get the entire world's population to herd immunity, covid will not be going away any time soon.

If they refuse the vaccine for religious reasons, let the churches pay their bills.
12-18 aren't free to make their own decisions. I’ll sympathize with the children of COVIDiots.
In a word, COVIDiocy. Can we deny them Medicare benefits? Vaccine-poor developing world people must think that we’re insane.Vaccinations of seniors lag behind in 11 states
In 11 states, more than 20% of senior citizens remain unvaccinated, a rate much higher than the national average, the New York Times reports.
Why it matters: People over 65 years old are particularly vulnerable to experiencing severe symptoms and death from COVID-19.
* Seniors who remain unvaccinated could threaten their states' recoveries from the virus, especially as many states move to ease health restrictions, notes the Times.
The state of play: Nationwide, 87% of those 65 and older have gotten at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, per the Times.
* In Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee, Georgia, Idaho and Missouri roughly 20% of seniors haven't received a single dose of the vaccine.
* In West Virginia and Wyoming, more than 20% haven't gotten their first doses.
The big picture: Many of these states are in the South, where vaccination rates at large have lagged and experts warn there may be a summer surge in COVID-19 cases, according to the New York Times.
* Factors influencing seniors to not get vaccinated "conspiracy theories, a belief in pseudoscience and a libertarian mind-set" that dislikes being told "what to do," Michael S. Saag, associate dean for global health and professor of medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, told the Times.
