A Patriot Front march in Philly didn’t go the way the group hoped when they had to flee angry counter-protesters.

A white supremacist group based in Texas attempted a march on Philadelphia over the Independence Day weekend, but had to celebrate the holiday the Confederate way.

“They literally ran away from the people of Philadelphia,” Michael Crum, a police officer in the city, told local ABC station WPVI.

An internal investigation is underway after an off-duty Knoxville police officer was knocked unconscious for allegedly making racist remarks to another attendee at a wedding reception.

Officers responding to reports of the assault around 9 p.m. on June 26 found emergency personnel treating an unconscious person in the parking lot. Investigators say 22-year-old Tanner Holt, an off-duty Knoxville Police officer, was knocked unconscious after reportedly telling a Black man that he, “didn’t know they let Black people in the reception hall.”

An incident report alleges Holt, a white man, also told the man that he (Holt) was part of the Black community. An incident report states that Holt continued to make racial remarks despite the man telling him several times to stop talking about race.

Four witnesses corroborated accounts of the incident, though one admitted they did not hear what was being said. All witnesses stated that Holt was very intoxicated when the incident occurred, according to the report.

Holt was transported to UT Medical Center for treatment. No charges have been filed in the incident.

A KPD spokesperson said the allegations were immediately reported to supervisors and Chief Eve Thomas requested an Internal Affairs investigation.

Holt has not returned to patrol since the incident while recovering from his injuries. KPD Public Information Officer Scott Erland said it is unknown at this time when he will be cleared to return to work.

New Jersey man accused of harassing Black neighbors in racist rant faces new charges

A man accused of harassing Black neighbors used a slingshot and ball bearings to cause more than $2,350 in damage to two vehicles at a condo complex, authorities say.

The allegations came Thursday as officials announced new charges against Edward Cagney Mathews, a 45-year-old white man whose racist behavior sparked a loud and long protest outside his home days earlier.

Mathews, previously accused of harassing Black neighbors, now is charged with offenses that include weapons and drug violations, criminal mischief and damaging the property of residents, said the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.

Police found the slingshot and almost 50 ball bearings during a search of Mathews' home at Essex Place Condominiums, the prosecutor's office said.

It alleged the ball bearings "matched the projectiles used to damage the vehicles" of two female residents at Essex Place. Mathews "is also accused of stalking one of the vehicle owners," the prosecutor's office said....

The hate group tore off some of Vauhxx Rush Booker’s hair as they beat his head and body, while yelling “White power.”

A Black man in Indiana who was almost lynched by a mob of white men in the woods is now being charged for defending himself during the attack....

The FBI ultimately opened a hate crime investigation into the attack, and Sean Purdy and Jerry Cox II were charged on July 17, 2020, with criminal confinement, battery, and intimidation, as reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Special prosecutor Sonia Leerkamp also charged Booker with felony battery and misdemeanor criminal trespass last week.

“It is unprecedented,” added attorney Katharine Liell, according to the Washington Post. “I’ve been practicing well over 30 years in this state and … I have never seen a special prosecutor open a new case and file charges a year later.”

Booker believes the charges are in retaliation for his refusal to sign a confidentiality agreement and participate in a pow-wow (mediation) with the racists who tried to kill him.

“There’s nothing more American than charging a Black man in his own attempted lynching,” Booker said Monday, per the Post.

“For the entire year, the special prosecutor has pressured and bullied me at every turn that if I didn’t engage with the restorative justice, if I didn’t let charges be dismissed, that she would charge me,” Booker said, the Post reported. “It wasn’t out of any new evidence or any shocking revelations. It was simply that, once again, a Black person telling a White person no — and they were going to punish me.”
