I might mail him a copy of my vaccine document with a note saying "come and take it" and give him my address.

Re: Coronavirus
We finally found a disease that selects for RepuQs.Undervaccinated red states are nowhere near herd immunity as dangerous Delta variant spreads
... The latest CDC data shows that the gap between vaccination rates in red states and blue states is vast, and it’s only getting wider. Right now, the 10 states that have fully vaccinated the smallest share of their residents are Mississippi (28 percent), Alabama (30 percent), Arkansas (32 percent), Louisiana (32 percent), Wyoming (33 percent), Tennessee (33 percent), Utah (34 percent), Idaho (34 percent), Georgia (34 percent) and Oklahoma (35 percent).
Meanwhile, the 10 states that have fully vaccinated the largest share of their residents are Vermont (60 percent), Massachusetts (57 percent), Maine (57 percent), Connecticut (56 percent), Rhode Island (54 percent), New Hampshire (53 percent), New Jersey (51 percent), Maryland (51 percent), Washington (49 percent) and New Mexico (49 percent).
With the exception of Georgia, every state on the low-vax list voted Republican in the 2020 presidential election. Every state on the high-vax list voted Democratic.
Likewise, the vast majority of the 100 U.S. counties with today’s highest per capita case counts are in conservative areas. According to the most recent Yahoo News/YouGov poll, more than three-quarters of Democrats (76 percent) say they’ve already been vaccinated, while less than half of Republicans (49 percent) say the same. A full 28 percent of Republicans say they will “never” get vaccinated....

Re: Coronavirus
In first federal ruling on vaccine mandates, judge sides with Houston hospital, dismissing claims from staff resisters
First of many, no doubt. I thought it might go the other way given the vaccines' "emergency" status. I support the ruling based on public health grounds, just as I support mandatory flu shots, especially for hospital workers. However, I don't know if the mandate really passes labor and vaccine law muster.
The judge, Lynn Nettleton Hughes, is a Reagan appointee and somewhat of a maverick. He tends to favor bosses over workers.
It may soon be moot if one or more of the vaccines get regular authorization from the FDA.

I meant "First of many" rulings above. I'm not predicting which way they will go.
More evidence suggests COVID-19 was in US by Christmas 2019
In other words, Dolt .45's limited China travel ban - and not bans for the many other countries which also already had infections - which he bragged about incessantly, was really closing the barn door after the horses had escaped. This is telling from Wiki:

I like how trump brags about his "warp speed" vaccine development program......as if putting a name to the effort somehow makes him responsible for it. And how initially the whole thing was a "hoax" that then became a nefarious plot by the Chinese government (which is it; it can't be both...or in this case neither) and then Bob Woodward exposed him as lying to the public about the seriousness of it all along. And for the crowning jewel of all this blather and false credit he spewed for a year, his cult refuse to get his wonderful vaccine. Hilarious.Vrede too wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 3:18 pmI meant "First of many" rulings above. I'm not predicting which way they will go.

Re: Coronavirus
By definition cults suspend logic. Maybe others also do, though. Why is 'China' or "Wunan' virus racist, but 'Indian', 'British', 'Brasilian' and 'South African' variants are not racist? I do notice that folks are trying to use 'Delta variant' in place of 'Indian variant', but it's only partially successful.neoplacebo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 3:28 pmI like how trump brags about his "warp speed" vaccine development program......as if putting a name to the effort somehow makes him responsible for it. One could have reasonably named it the Wunan virus and be no more racist than when they named it the 'Spanish' virus even though it didn't originate in Spain. The problem was with the would-be originator of that Chinese/Wunan name and his clear intent to be derogatory. But it wasn't necessarily racist even with Trump's disparagement. If he'd been on the outs with Russia, he'd have called it the Russian flu. Or, surprising he didn't do this, call it the Fauci flu. In any case, it wouldn't have been descriptive - it would have been insultingVrede too wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 8:35 pm

300M shots in 150 days, 2M/day, a stunning success! 176M people with at least 1 dose, but we will fall short of the 70% of adults by 7/4 goal.
600K dead, a horrifying and unnecessary failure.

153 is 0.61% of the workforce.153 Houston Methodist staff who refused to get COVID vaccine have been fired or resigned
... Why it matters: The Texas hospital was one of the first in the U.S. to announce such requirement, and it suspended 178 employees without pay for 14 days for failing to comply with the rule.
* "The employees who became compliant during the suspension period returned to work the day after they became compliant," the spokesperson said.
Of note: Houston Methodist Hospital CEO, Marc Boom said after announcing the suspensions that that 24,947 workers had been vaccinated against the coronavirus by the June 9 deadline.

Re: Coronavirus
I'm not going to argue with any new business requests or govt mandates, but I won't be happy about them, nor will I volunteer to go any further as long as almost all of the people getting seriously ill and dying have chosen to shun the vaccine.Should the Delta variant change the U.S. pandemic playbook?
... Some experts, however, say the U.S. should amend its approach in response to the Delta variant. Though more lockdowns seem far-fetched, some have called for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to reverse its guidance that vaccinated people can go maskless indoors — at least until there’s clear evidence that they can’t pass the Delta variant along to the unvaccinated....

It would be tough to care any more for these idiots who caused so much death and economic destruction because trump told them not to get vaccinated - even though trump got vaccinated.
I guess it boils down to, the fewer republicans the better.

Re: Coronavirus
Last month my car insurance went up about 15% after 16 years with no accidents and no claims. It's with State Farm. I was forced to write an accusatory email to my agent asking about it and relaying my suspicions that "perhaps State Farm has had to pay out on thousands of life insurance policies over the past year due to the virus pandemic that the idiot trump initially called a hoax and then just decided to lie about." The reply I got said the reason for the increase was because parts for my car are hard to get. I then had to write back reminding them that I only have liability coverage so I don't see how the cost of parts for my car is relevant. The agent then blamed it on my uninsured motorist coverage........that threw me for a fucking loop, as it became obvious that my insurance company is more willing to pay for damage caused by an uninsured motorist to my car even though the uninsured motorist pays State Farm nothing. I think I'm being cheated in all this somehow. And if those goddamn high rise condo cubes in FL keep falling down or are pronounced vile and torn down, I hope to hell State Farm isn't left holding the bag; it would mean another fucking premium increase for me. What a world.

Re: Coronavirus
Other than the small number of people that can't be vaccinated and are likely taking extraordinary measures to protect themselves, protecting COVIDiots would be the only direct reason, grrr. However, cumulative COVIDiot illness and death has a secondary effect on our healthcare system as GoCubsGo posts about, our insurance rates as neoplacebo posts about, our Medicare/Medicaid costs, and our economy in general. Bastards. So, I'll grudgingly abide the businesses and govt on masks while hoping that the COVIDiots rapidly wise up or die off.
