Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

:happy-cheerleaderkid:

What the hell happened to the emoji function here?

Had to cut and paste from my collection instead:

This references a gif on BRD, so the original isn't missing, it's something missing in the website functions...

Working fine. You have to use the full editor, not the quick reply.
Nope, all that shows in your post is the words, not the images.

OK, hold on. I checked my user preferences/display options and saw that somehow the display of animations etc was turned off. I probably did that and forgot about it.

In other words,

Oddly enough, I turned everything on and the little graphics still didn't display. I had to turn OFF "Display flash animations" in order to the :stuff: to display.

Weird, eh?

FWIW, I followed this path:

Home
Board index
User Control Panel
Board preferences
Edit display options

Maybe this will help somebody.

Funny, no mention of honesty and competence.

Lord, I don't miss her (and Jen is doing a great job!).

The Trumpworld whining and lies are unrelenting.
Kayleigh McEnany met with furious reaction after claiming she never lied as White House press spokesperson

... “As a woman of faith, as a mother of baby Blake, as a person who meticulously prepared at some of the world’s hardest institutions, I never lied,” she told an audience at Turning Point USA’s Young Women’s Leadership Summit.

“I sourced my information. But that will never stop the press from calling you a liar,” she said as she went on to slam the media for the label.

“Our motto was this — ‘offense only,’” she told the crowd. “Because I knew what we were up against. Republicans always get the bad headlines, always get the false stories, always get the lies—if I can use that word — told by the press. There is one standard for Democrats and another for Republicans. And we must be on offence.” ...

...

...

... In fact, according to PolitiFact, an American nonprofit fact-checking website, Ms McEnany statement’s were either “mostly false”, “false” and false accompanied with a “ridiculous claim” about 56 per cent of the time.

She was found to be “mostly” honest only 28 per cent of the times that the organisation had double-checked her claims. Meaning, though her statements were accurate, they needed “more clarification or additional information.”

However, the PolitiFact scorecard found that there were no instances when they fact-checked her and found her statement to be completely accurate with no significant information missing.

Trump Boat Parades Left Untold Destruction in Their Wake

... It’s been a year since the Trump flotilla phenomenon swept through the nation’s lakes and bays. Law enforcement agents, rally organizers, and boaters spoke to The Daily Beast about how these events often got out of control, causing more crashes and near-misses than previously known. In Tennessee alone, the state’s database shows that Trump flotillas made up a third of all “congested water” accidents there last year.

National figures aren’t available that identify events as Trump flotillas, but a state-by-state review of incident reports in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas showed that most accidents never made the news.

Unlike the average holiday regatta, however, where alcohol is blamed when people jump off moving boats or fall out while peeing over the side, the main culprit at Trump boat parades is the sheer choppiness of the water.

George Birdwell, an investigator with Tennessee’s Wildlife Resources Agency, said law enforcement agents have grown to dread working these events....
On the bright side, almost all of the damage was to Trumpette boats.

Pro-Trump convention featured 'open bloodlust' as attendees cheered calls to execute political foes

Daily Beast reporter Will Sommer over the weekend attended the so-called Health and Freedom Conference in Oklahoma in which Trump supporters lustily cheered calls to execute political opponents.

In the latest edition of the Daily Beast's Fever Dreams podcast, Sommer described the surreal scene of watching actor Jim Caviezel casually talk about global elites harvesting children's adrenal glands so they could maintain their youthful appearances.

Sommer then explains how notorious Trump-loving attorney Lin Wood also went on a crazed rant about elites torturing children to harvest their chemicals, which culminated in a declaration that all of them should be rounded up and put to the firing squad.

Fellow Daily Beast reporter Asawin Suebsaeng asked Sommer what it was like being in the crowd, which he described as an "openly bloodlusty carnival."

"It's pretty crazy," Sommer said. "There's a sense from these people that QAnon is very real and, most importantly, what they've learned from QAnon is real -- and that's adrenochrome, that's the torturing of children."

Sommer says he also heard two attendees claim that the large shipping vessel that was stuck in the Suez Canal was actually filled with children that Hillary Clinton planned to eat.

Listen to the whole podcast at this link.

Trump inaugural committee head accused of being UAE agent

The chair of former President Donald Trump's 2017 inaugural committee was arrested Tuesday on charges alleging he secretly conspired to influence U.S. policy to benefit the United Arab Emirates, even while he was seeking a position as an American diplomat.

Tom Barrack, 74, of Santa Monica, California, was among three men charged in federal court in Brooklyn, New York, with acting as unregistered foreign agents as they tried to influence U.S. policy on the UAE's behalf while Trump was running in 2016 and later while he was president.

The indictment goes to the heart of the U.S.' longtime close relationship with the UAE and directly ties its de facto ruler, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to Barrack's charges.

Besides conspiracy, Barrack was charged with obstruction of justice and making multiple false statements during a June 2019 interview with federal agents. Also charged in a seven-count indictment were Matthew Grimes, 27, of Aspen, Colorado, who is a former executive at Barrack’s company, and Rashid al Malik, 43, a businessman from the United Arab Emirates who prosecutors said acted as a conduit to that nation's rulers.

One of Trump’s close personal friends for decades, Barrack is the latest in a long line of the former president’s associates to face criminal charges, including his former campaign chair, his former deputy campaign chair, his former chief strategist, his former national security adviser, his former personal lawyer and his company’s longtime chief financial officer.

Barrack and Grimes were arrested in Southern California while al Malik was at large, believed to be living somewhere in the Middle East, authorities said. In court papers, prosecutors said al Malik was living in Los Angeles for years before fleeing the U.S. three days after an April 2018 interview by law enforcement. The UAE, which hosts thousands of U.S. troops and aircraft on the Arabian Peninsula, did not respond to requests for comment Wednesday on the indictment....
