Those letters should be shown to every potential voter in his district "this is your Congressional representative." No matter to me personally if they want to elect another RepuQ, but how can anybody think this guy should keep that job.

The only thing good about any of it was the Hershey bar. And I'd keep an eye on it. I imagine his "staff" is just as stupid as he is. Just think of who in his past he's rounded up to be part of this circus. Anybody this crazy is bound to have some even crazier friends. I know I wouldn't be able to drink enough or do enough drugs to be part of it unless it was a dare.

Like I've already said, Maddy is dain bramaged.

That's a term I used to hear in reference to some motorcyclists who got into some serious accidents. Before the mandatory helmet laws in this state.

They were never quite the same.

We got rid of those silly helmet laws. Freedums an all, you know. Thanks be to Jeb Bush.

Well, getting rid of the helmet laws was probably a big mistake.

I know someone who would be dead, or a vegetable, today were it not for the helmet law.

Florida’s helmet law is a bit complicated. In general, it requires all motorcycle operators and riders to wear helmets. However, if anyone 21 or older is covered by an insurance policy providing at least $10,000 in medical benefits for motorcycle related injuries, the helmet law policy does not apply.

All motorcycle drivers and riders, regardless of age, are required to wear eye protection. Anyone who rides in an enclosed sidecar is not subject to Florida’s helmet or eye protection laws.

Quite a few states have stupidly taken helmet requirements off for riders older than 18.

But California is the only state that lane splitting is legal.

Speaking of helmets, I've never been into street motorcycling, but I don't understand why anyone would want to ride on the highway open faced. That can't be comfortable.

Actually lane splitting isn't all that dangerous, if done carefully. When I rode it was sort of a gray area, meaning not illegal. And the general advice was not to go faster than 15 mph than surrounding traffic, and not to exceed the posted speed limit. In 2017 the law was clarified somewhat, allowing guidelines to be published by the CHP. The new guidelines are not to lane split if surrounding traffic is going more than 30 mph, and not to exceed the speed of surrounding traffic by more than 10 mph. It comes in most handy when coming into an intersection where all traffic is stopped, and because most bikes can accelerate much faster than most cars, one can quite easily and safely pull away from the traffic when the light changes. The only hitch there is when some moron in a car makes an illegal left hand turn in front of the bike. I've seen that, and it's not pretty, especially with a helmet-less rider. The rider was killed. I saw this before I got my first bike, and before Cali had a helmet law for adults. But to be fair, I don't think the rider was lane splitting; he just was going though an intersection and a car turned left in his path. DOA. Again, mind reading helps.

As a motorcycle rider for decades it wasn't hard to spot the weavers in advance. You sort of got used to reading minds. And again, the 15 mph limit (now 10 mph). These are just guidelines, however, and one can still get a ticket for it if one is acting like a jerk. As it should be. Both on the road and in this forum, LOL.

The key words seem to be "if done carefully." I don't think they told them that part in SoCal.
But you're right, it does cut down lane congestion at the traffic lights. Probably lets at least one car get through for every bike that splits.

Well, unsafe motorcyclists tend to be a self-limiting population, IMHO. That said, why I'm still here sometimes mystifies me. I parked my bikes about 15 year ago when a car pulled off a soft shoulder right in my path on a blind turn. I had nowhere to go. I wasn't hurt much, but I took it as a bad omen. However, if I ever get a medical death sentence... the first thing, if I can still ride, is to fix up my bike, renew my registration and insurance, and go out having fun.

Either it's not enforced, or sunglasses count as eye protection

Lane splitting is where traffic is moving slowly on a multi-lane road, usually a freeway in California. If there is enough room for the motorcycle to travel safely between the two lanes going in the same direction, it is not illegal to do so, at least in California, providing the guidelines are followed and there is no contact or other problem. In general a lane splitter winds up riding down the broken white line separating the two lanes. It is not legal for any of the cars to try to interfere with the rider by opening doors, or swerving into its path. Like I said, it's most useful when encountering a traffic jam on a multilane road.

Doesn't surprise me at all. I figure Mark Meadows is a high ranking member of this shadow cabinet. He may even be a Grand Poobah. No, I'm sure of it.....he's absolutely a Grand Poobah. Even has a badge saying so. I expect him to be poobahing all over the place in a few months.
