Well, the only insignia-ed baseball cap I usually wear is an A's logo. But I do also have a Giants cap, if that's what the "SF" in big red letters means....

Did I ever tell you about the time when I was about 12 and a friend's mom got us a couple of free tickets to a 49'rs game at Kezar. From a milk carton? I won an autographed football just for being there. Lot of illegible signatures, in ballpoint, but the John Brody signature was in magic marker and quite legible. To make my friend feel better, we played with it in the street afterward until it got scuffed up. As I recall, the Niners lost that game. Around 1964.

My first reaction was that if they weren't going to use the "real" field, they might as well build their "temporary" field in Dubuque or wherever. But then I saw pics of the field and it would have needed significant mods to play a real MLB game on. They could have scheduled an exhibition game there, though, with no effect on the standings. Just two real MLB teams playing a fun game on the famous field, modified only by adding some temp bleachers for the crowd.

I'm guessing they're going to have some festivities on the original. When you go there you can play on the field.

The game will be hosted in Dyersville, Iowa, at the filming location of the eponymous 1989 baseball movie. The field constructed for the movie, which has been operated as a tourist destination since 1989, could not be brought to MLB game standards without permanently altering major features of the property and destroying its movie authenticity, so it was decided to build a separate playing facility at a distance of approximately 500 ft (150 m) in the cornfields.

The design of the ballpark pays homage to the White Sox' home from 1910 to 1990, Comiskey Park, including the shape of the outfield and the bullpens beyond the center field fence. Windows were included in the design of the right field wall to show the cornfields beyond the ballpark and to provide views of the movie set.[2][1]

Kind of a shame they're only playing one game on it.
