Single hurricane thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Ida is the most disorganized hurricane I've ever heard of to be speculated to be a cat 4, or even a cat 2.

Either they know something or everyone is listening to the Weather Channel crazy folk.

Or just my wishful thinking
The 7am view is more organized than the 4am view was and it's still a Cat 1. Rapid intensification begins this afternoon.

Edit: There's now a 10am sat view, even more organized.

Yes it does. I hope that High over NC holds. Of course everyone in NO hopes it slides to the south

Edit: wherever it goes, let's hope it continues at 16 mph; I hate the ones that go 2 mph, or stop.

Shit in a tree. It seems like it's been over 90 degrees every day this month. The kind of weather that makes you get after yourself.

4 :( . You can see the black of the ocean in the eye with the sat view above!

Aside: That's cool that a posted pic automatically updates. It should do that all the way to VA and beyond.

Occasional heavy rain. Kids playing in the streets.
I'm still keeping a cautious eye. It's never too late for something weird to happen, but short of the H over western N.C. dissipating and another come roaring down out of Oklahoma to push this thing back into the Gulf, I think that I've missed another one.

oops, Pensacola may not be out of the woods yet. The former steering high is off shore and there's another in extreme western Kentucky/Tennessee.

Hopefully, it will just rip Ida a new one rather than send it back to the gulf.

Helpful Hint: If you live somewhere named "Isle", you probably want to boogie off to somewhere else when there's a hurricane headed your way.

Supposedly, 40 people refused to evacuate Grand Isle. Idk how they fared.

Wow - we just had our strongest wind yet. I'm in Pensacola near the airport and we'll see later what they say. I say 65 to 75 gusts, and sustained (for less than 5 minutes) at 45 mph.

Well, so far here at Isle Haveanother there are no problems and I figure to sit tight and live up to the spirit of this place.
