Only in America will you find a lib calling this ridiculous.TOP-10 "Only In America" Observations - by a Canadian:
1) Only in America, could politicians talk about the greed of the rich at a $35,000.00 a plate campaign fund-raising event.
2) Only in America, could people claim that the government still discriminates against black Americans when they have a black President, a black Attorney General, and roughly 18% of the federal workforce is black while only 12% of the population is black.
3) Only in America, could they have had the two people most responsible for the tax code, Timothy Geithner, the head of the Treasury Department and Charles Rangel who once ran the Ways and Means Committee, BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.
4) Only in America, can terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and then have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash.
5) Only in America, would they make people who want to legally become American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of dollars for the privilege, while letting anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just 'magically' become American citizens with full privileges and government benefits.
6) Only in America, could people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking by the country's Constitution be thought of as "extremists."
7) Only in America, do you need to present identification to cash a check, buy alcohol, and controlled-substance medications, but not to vote.
8) Only in America, could people demand the government investigate whether oil companies are gouging the public because the price of gas went up when the return on equity invested in a major U.S. oil company ( Marathon Oil) is less than half of a company making tennis shoes (Nike).
9) Only in America, could the government collect more tax dollars from the people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a trillion dollars more than it has per year - for total spending of $7-Million PER MINUTE, and complain that it doesn't have nearly enough money.
10) Only in America, could the rich people - who pay 86% of all income taxes - be accused of not paying their "fair share" by people who don't pay any income taxes at all.

Only in America....
I found this little tid-bit in another forum. I thought it was worth sharing with our local forum.

Re: Only in America....
Hey dumbass....It's a jab at American politics in general; authorship don't mean crap, I didn't claim authorship.
Only in America would a dumbass liberal go absolutely ape-shit because he/she is not smart or informed enough to recognize the absurdity of politics in this country. Are you seeing anything familiar in your favored politics?
I figured you would be the first to squall, you can go change your diaper now.

No, it paints an artificial "absurdity" created from the far right side of the spectrum, without regard to reality. Nevertheless, I'm not offended by the politics - but I am appalled by the "logic" because even though DooHickey thinks it's a slam against politics in general, there are a lot of people out there - a lot - who think all those things are related and/or causal. Probably products of a government school

I'm just saddened by the fact that so many Americans are gullible enough to believe that shit without ever engaging in a nanosecond of critical judgment.O Really wrote:No, it paints an artificial "absurdity" created from the far right side of the spectrum, without regard to reality. My favorite is number 7 "Only in America, do you need to present identification to cash a check, buy alcohol, and controlled-substance medications, but not to vote."
Begs the question how many of those places require a pre-registration and check you off a list when you show up. (and does anyone actually "cash" a check anymore?) And if those places did have a pre-registration would they still require a government-issued ID? I don't know about others, but I've never had to give anything but an insurance card for a prescription - and not even that if I'm picking up for someone else.

Number 5: letting anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just 'magically' become American citizens with full privileges and government benefits.
That's just incredibly ignorant and really, really stupid.
