Well, so much for the otherwise good football weekend. If Pete Carroll doesn't have a woodshed, he should get one.
Who's he woodsheding?
Everybody who contributed to the 100+ yards in penalties, especially DK Metcalf for getting some very avoidable penalties, including managing to get a holding and pass interference on the same play; everybody who missed tackling Henry when they knew he was going to get the ball; the offensive line for (again and still) making Wilson run for his life... most anybody else who played the second half.
Bummer.
Doubly rotten weekend for Miami, too. Uhhhglyeee . . .

NY Jets, the elephant graveyard for quarterbacks.

How happy is Darnold to be out of there?

Monday Night Football just may be palatable this year.

I switched on the regular broadcast and forgot to check them out. :(

Anyhow, great game. Too bad about the final result, but I don't hate the LV Traitors.
Don't forget Peyton and Eli tonight.

Looks like sitting out the pretend season worked well for Wilson.
Or not.
Two weeks in a row the Seahawks have blown comfortable leads. Some might say Carroll and the other coaches might be the ones that should go to the woodshed.

Well, there's that.
Seahawk fans are pretty spoiled, though. In the last 10 years the 'Hawks have won 10 or more games 8 times, gone to SB twice and won it once (shoulda won twice), and haven't had a sub.500 season. They don't get the glam treatment like the Pats, and for some reason, don't usually make it to the national TV game as much as, say, the middling mediocre Cowboys. But they generally have a good consistent season where every week you as a fan know you've got a reasonable chance of winning. They've had some strong and talented personalities like "Beast Mode", Richard Sherman and the Legion of Boom, etc. that make it fun to watch a game. And even a good looking QB with a hot wife who may not be Gisele, but can certainly hold her own. So starting a season with two unnecessary and winnable losses is a bit of a shock to 'Hawks fans. Seattle Times can be a bit fickle, but they're roasting them and crying doomsday.

I dunno, Pats fans haven't had much chance to be for a long time. We'll see how this year goes. Cowboys fans seem to hang in there no matter what. I once would have said Packer fans, but they've been a bit wishy-washy lately. The teams that are perpetually awful seem to have more solid fans than the ones who are sometimes good. I think fans were more faithful back in the day when players stayed with a team for a lot longer. It's hard to care much about a team that you don't know anybody, or when your team moves to, oh, LA or Vegas, or when you have a players you enjoy following and they keep getting traded.

I've got the Bucs and Panthers as 2 and 2a so I'm good.

Plus it looks like the Arlington Heights Bears may be in my future.

Doesn't have the same attitude. Sounds like a high school team.

I've always thought that if a team owner moved, that he couldn't keep the old name, logo, or mascot. You wanna move, then leave. but you can't take the "Colts" to Indianapolis (or whatever). They did that with the Browns, and it worked well keeping the name in Cleveland if when it was a new organization.

It's a Chicago burb.
Plenty of NFL teams actually don't play in their names city.
Off the top of my head:
NY Jets and Giants ( different state!)
Dallas Cowboys
San Francisco 49ers
Miami Dolphins
Detroit Lions previously

Arlington Heights is a Chicago suburb. Do you think it's okay to keep the city name and mascot in that instance?

"Ravens" is a cooler name. I mostly agree with you, but it worked out in the end.

I'm just fine with it.

Most suburbanites will say I'm from Chicago in conversation with people outside Chicagoland.

Actually the Browns were the only exception but I agree with the sentiment especially for a more historic team. Who really cares if the Jaguars are from podunk Missouri?

Rams to St Louis and back.
Raiders to Los Angeles now Vegas.
Colts.
Cardinals.

I agree in principle, St Louis Rams was always weird. However, I kinda liked following the Oakland/Los Angeles/Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders. Go figure.
