I thought that I understood targeting until last week.
Supposedly this was called targeting because the player was defenseless.
And an article

Re: College football
Don't give up yet. My team would have lost in similar fashion to Georgia State if we had stayed with our 1st string qb. They scored on us at will during the 1st half after all the talking heads proclaimed us the 2bd best defense in the country, but that may have had more to do with not having our defensive captain until the 2nd half.O Really wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 12:03 pmUNC Ranked #1!!

Congrats to #22 Auburn - otherwise, the also-rans are more interesting than the top 25.
Others receiving votes: Texas 101; Boston College 91; N.C. State 70; San Diego State 69; Maryland 59; Wisconsin 56; SMU 54; Virginia Tech 39; LSU 36; Iowa State 31; Army 23; Arizona State 12; UTSA 11; Liberty 11; North Carolina 10; UCF 9; Oregon State 7; Louisiana 3; Appalachian State 3; Louisville 2; Indiana 2; Wyoming 1.
The U got no points for beating up on some little Connecticut directional school.
Billy.P should be happy that they gave UCF fewer votes than even the Hapless 'Heels.

Even Paul took a shot at Daboo
"'Dabo Swinney, for all of his charm, is a pretty lousy loser,” Finebaum said, via Saturday Down South. “Nobody wants to hear his whine, nobody really wants to hear him say whatever he says. He’s a good winner — well, he’s not even a good winner. But he’s a terrible loser."'

Daboo is a rotten excuse for a human being. Speaking of such, I wonder how 1FATCAN is enjoying his season so far.

Re: College football
They might have streamed it, I didn't check.billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 3:35 pmKinda sucks about tv coverage. Seems they could have at least offered some sort of free streaming.
I've missed half or at least 5 game minutes of so many games that I lost count yehttps://www.blueridgedebate.com/forum/posting.p ... 144699#ars ago. Why a sports network with their countless talking head shows would only allow 3.5 hours for a game that often takes nearly 4 is beyond me.
And why not keep people informed. We never saw a mention of what would happen until 4 minutes before they switched to Auburn. I can't believe they just cut the other game. What would have been wrong with a split screen
I have it on good authority that all of the obnoxious App St fans came over from nearby TN, WV and VA.

Last weekend:
Congrats on beating, ahem, Sun Belt GA St.

NC ST > Clemson. Glorious day!
2-2 UNC 22, 2-2 GA Tech 45!

Darn, Iowa St came thaaat close to knocking off #21 Baylor.
Darn, WV came thaaat close to knocking off #6 OK.
Go Ducks!
GO:
Tonight -
4-0 @Maryland > 4-0 Iowa (5). Iowa is only favored by 3.5.
@ Utah St > BYU (13)
Sat -
@Wisconsin > Michigan (14)
@Rutgers > Ohio St. (11)
@Kansas St > Oklahoma (6)
Oregon (3!) > @Stanford
Mississippi (12) > @Alabama (1)
@N.C. State (23) > Louisiana Tech
Mississippi State > @Texas A&M (15)
Boston Coll > @Clemson (25). Knock those pussies out of the Top 25!
Indiana > @Penn St. (4)
Auburn (22) > @LSU. LSU is favored by 3.
@UCLA (20) > Arizona St
These are all wishes, not predictions. I would only bet on them with spreads.
#4 Montana (3-0) plays at #6 Eastern Washington (4-0). Huge game, GO Griz!

We go to Baton Rouge tomorrow. Could be fun, or a rout, or we could get slaughtered.
I do so want to watch a fun game against a good team again someday. I'm tired of losing until there under a minute left.
Corn dogs for supper.

I knew that my wish was insane the moment that I heard that this is the Big Ten's "mental health awareness game".
Maryland 7, Iowa 31 with 10 minutes left in the 2nd.

Re: College football
my game isn't until 8, so it looks like corn dogs will be for supper tonight. better for me, way too much trouble to prepare for a noon game, as they must be served before halftime when there is still hope.
Ulysses - you could go meatless, but I suggest using pork loin strips
Corn dogs
2 cups plain yellow corn meal
¼ cup flour
1 T baking powder
3 T sugar
½ t. black pepper
¼ t. salt
½ cup cream corn - optional
1 egg - optional
1 cup or more buttermilk
1 slice bacon per dog – optional – wrap the dog in bacon before dipping
¼ cup chopped jalapenos
Combine cornmeal and cornmeal mix with 1 cup milk or buttermilk, 2-3 Tablespoons sugar, 1 can cream-style corn. Add jalapeno peppers as desired. Add an egg for a fluffier texture or use all mix instead of the plain meal.
Heat oil to about 375, use wood skewers or chopsticks, wrap the dogs in bacon and roll in a little corn starch, dip in batter (put batter in a tall glass is easier), and cook until done.

Damn, that sounds good. I've seen people eating corn dogs at fairs and games, but it never looked appealing. Never knew there was a home made version.

Re: College football
Up to ya. There's all kinds of hot dogs, weiner and sausages that make good corn dogs.
The key is the corn starch. Before I found out about corn starch, I had a lot of trouble keeping the batter on the dog.
And use a glass for dipping.

Oh well.
Arkansas (8) 0, @Georgia (2) 37. One of the worst losses by a Top 10 team ever?
