Oh, that finger hurt just to look at. Had a curve backwards and sideways. And he still went back out for a while.

Not Geno's fault. The receiver tripped over the turf. If only . . .

Dislocation. Sans associated fracture Wilson will be back next week, especially with the 10 day break. Then, it's a stretch of weak opponents until Green Bay 3-1 on 11/14:
Pittsburgh 1-3
New Orleans 2-2
Jacksonville 0-4
Bye Week

Revenge at the LA Rams 4-1 on 12/19.

Or not:
Seahawks’ defense on pace to give up most yards in a season in NFL history

... Seattle already ranked dead last in the NFL in total yards allowed heading into Thursday night’s loss to the Rams, then gave up 476 total yards to Los Angeles. Now the Seahawks have given up a total of 2,254 yards through five games.

That’s an average of 451 yards a game, and puts the Seahawks on pace to give up 7,664 yards in a 17-game season. That would be the most in NFL history.

The current record for the most yards allowed in a season is 7,042, set by the Saints in 2012. That Saints team gave up 440 yards a game over a 16-game season, so the Seahawks are actually allowing more yards per game than the record-setting team and aren’t only on pace to break the record because the season is now 17 games long....

Legion of Boom Whom?
 Meanwhile, Richard Sherman is playing on a division-leading 3-1 team.

Legion of Boom (Seattle Seahawks)

The rest of the original main starters in the Seahawks defensive backfield are retired, with Brandon Browner now in San Quentin, "serving 8 years in prison for attempted murder."

Oh yeah, there was also this.

Who knew? Apparently included in this are field goals. It could be blocked, picked up and a second attempt can be made on a drop kick. -0-?

No matter how much football you’ve watched in your life, there was a play in Thursday night’s game between the Rams and Seahawks that you’ve probably never seen before. It was one that left even the officials confused, unsure of how to rule it initially.
Yeah, that was crazy. Do you think that Seahawks punter Michael Dickson knew the rule or was just lucky? I thought that ineligible receivers had to wait for the kick to head downfield, but I'm not finding it in Wiki's review of the rules:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punt_(gridiron_football)
If it's in the rules at all, maybe they only have to wait for the first kick.

Given the defense and offense's performance Dickson should be the team MVP for the game.

Wilson looks to be out 4+ weeks, thus likely ending the Seahawk's season early.

Bummer dude but damn he did have a ten year run.

Betcha he's back sooner rather than later though.

No mention of a fracture, but it's worse:
Report: Russell Wilson out 6 weeks after surgery on ruptured finger tendon

... The surgery was reportedly more complicated than expected, with Wilson needing screws to stabilize the finger....

Wilson's surgery means the end of his impressive ironman streak, as he had previously started 149 straight games across 10 seasons to open his career. So far this season, he has passed for 1,196 yards with a 72.0 completion percentage, 10 touchdowns and one interception. His 9.6 yards per passing attempt currently leads the NFL....
Often a break is preferable to tendon or ligament damage. Could be 4 weeks, 6 weeks or even much longer. With a fracture you're pretty much assured of 6 weeks and done.

:D
Are we talking about the controversy or the bar? :o

Jihad Ward says Jags aren’t sweating the Urban Meyer controversy

The interesting thing about that to me is that there's a 6' 5", 297 pound, 81¾-inch wingspan defensive end named 'Jihad'. I found this:
... Ward is a Muslim who was given his first name by his mother. He said “Jihad” is a popular name where he grew up in Philadelphia, but acknowledged it also can be misunderstood.

Dictionary.com says “jihad” means “a holy war undertaken as a sacred duty by Muslims.” But, according to the Islamic Supreme Council of America website, jihad also refers to the “internal as well as external efforts to be a good Muslims or believer, as well as working to inform people about the faith of Islam.”

“There’s probably a lot of stereotypes, but, if you really look it up in the dictionary, it’s really a positive thing,” Ward said.
It's football, go with the harsh meaning. ;)

I'm not really an Urban Meyer fan, but really - is being in your own bar letting some drunkish young floozy rub on you worth all this falderol? Not to say that he should have been there at that time at all, or that it was a wise thing to do, but whatever happened to the concept of "party foul"? Everything turns into a huge scandal. And Gonzaga coach Mark Few is "suspended" for a few (meanlingless) games at the first of this season for getting a DWI off season and in a different state.

If I were a Jags fan, I'd be more worried about my team maybe tying/setting the record for most consecutive losses. Which might happen tomorrow. If Urban could make SB contenders (or hell, even playoff hopefuls) out of the Jags, I'd let him get grinded on by anybody who's willing to do it.

 I wonder how much of the condemnation is magnified by fans that are pissed off over the 0-4 start. He's not the leader that he used to be, call him 'Sub-Urban'.

Urban's just another good college coach that wouldn't change for the NFL. I think it's just the high ego of those guys that keeps from from an obvious adaptation.
