Al Gore sells Current TV

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Al Gore sells Current TV

Unread post by DooHickey »

Al Gore has sold his American media outlet to the mouthpiece of our enemy in wartime; the mouthpiece of those who want to (and continually announce that they're going to, or are about to) burn Israel and everybody in it.

Al Gore-----profitting off big oil! Heaven forbid!

Rather than be a reactionary dimwit, I heard a few things that bore more investigation. Al Jazeera is a news organization headquartered in Qatar, the same country where our Central Command set up shop during Bush's manufactured attack on Iraq. Get that? In spite of Arab operation to our almost unilateral invasion of Iraq, Qatar agreed to host our Centcom. Hardly our enemy.

Al Jazeera is an international news organization. As such, it presents information from all sources.

Al Jazeera did not show videos of Westerners being beheaded. That was a lie. Of course, Fox repeated the lie when Al Jazeera English launched in 2006, but Fox has never been one to seek truth, justice, or the American way.

Al Jazeera has been censored by Israel, but it has also been censored by China, and by the Palestinian Authority and other Arab and Muslim groups. Why? Because it reports the news.

Al Jazeera is the only source for dissenting views in the Arab views. (Al Arabiya may be getting there.) It is the only source I've found of calls, by Arabs, for the halt to senseless violence over political cartoons and videos.

Al Jazeera won a Webby Award as one of the five best news sites on the web. Slate Magazine said Al Jazeera's coverage of Egypt's revolution "embarrassed" U.S. cable news outlets. Wikileaks said about the revolutions in Egypt and Tunisia -- "But let us not forget the elephant in the room: Al Jazeera + sat dishes."

Yes, Rummy may have had problems with Al Jazeera because they portrayed matters in a way he didn't like, but so did every news organization in the world except Fox. Clinton testified before the Senate that Al Jazeera offers more informative news about events in the Middle East than opinion-driven American media. No one bothered to refute her.

So, the rational and intelligent who wish to be informed will consider Al Jazeera as yet another source of usually credible information. The woefully and willfully ignorant who wish to remain woefully and willfully ignorant will continue to ignorantly bash Al Jazeera for imagined sins. They just know so many things that the facts don't support.

doodoohickey calls information "the enemy"

reckon he learned that of faux
Trump: “We had the safest border in the history of our country - or at least recorded history. I guess maybe a thousand years ago it was even better.”
