Too bad it didn't happen in Oregon, where, according to O R-, it's always raining.

Something.

"I recently read a book about Marcus and Narcissa Whitman"

Glad you liked it. The book was pretty fascinating. And with any luck my favorite obituary will appear sometime in the next 36 months. Oh, and the current remnants of the Cayuse tribe still have a fine hatred of Whitman.
What's the name of the book? Sounds like an interesting read.

Wrong smoke.
We've been unable to locate Route 420; gotta be around here somewhere though.

"According to a local councilor, his "whole garden, garden umbrellas, and him" were "covered" in poop."
Gives a whole new meaning to crop dusting.

Enjoy your travels! What are you traveling in? And hopefully you aren't taking the "Boo" part about "living off the land" seriously.
Definitely not the scenario, only the attitude. Sit down and start driving with enough electronics to do everything but change a flat tire.

We moving around in a totally refurbished 2018 Ford RV similar to the photo.
I could have went bigger, but this one handles like a champ on or off road.

Speaking of nice rigs, whereabouts are you today? Oregon still? Or are you about to flee east to avoid the "atmospheric river" that's about to hit the West Coast?

I think BRD needs to get you a tracking device and an app so we can follow your every move.

Heceda Beach, OR, slightly north of Florence. It's not easy to "flee east" from the Oregon Coast, but we're tucked in behind a large dune and other windbreaks. Should be OK.

OK, take care.

Down here, we're forecast to start getting rained on in a couple hours, and then more or less continuously for the next 36 or so hours. The most rain in at least a year. I think! I've moved all I can under cover; we'll see what happens.

Might have to get the flashlight out to clean a gutter. Dang.

Opps, just checked before posting. Rain has started two hours early. No matter, it's just a quasi-gutter on some aluminum roofing (not siding!) over the outer patio. No biggie. Can wait till next week.

Note: the advantage of putting off gutter cleaning is that when I do get a roundtoit, there will be less dust. Hah.

We do - Jeep Wrangler. But there literally aren't many roads that go east. Nobody (news people, weather people, online reports, etc.) are saying anything about evacuations, and apparently wind/rain storms aren't unusual, although this one is a large one. Keep in mind, too, that everything on the outside of the coach is subjected to sustained winds of 60-70mph every time we're on the road, so the wind itself isn't a problem. Flying tree branches and trash cans some idiot left out might be something else, though.

Well, since the river is coming in from the southwest, you might want to point the RV in that direction.

Just a thought. Probably not necessary.

Sounds like the rain has stopped here. Might go up and check that gutter.

Sacrificial windshield? If anything wouldn't pointing northeast be a better choice?

Who cares?

But it's clear that Vrudy has some moves after all, despite the hunchback.
