Re: Ex President* Trump
When I visited Georgia on business a few decades ago (like three or more), I rented a car to drive from Atlanta to Tybee Beach. Along the way I pulled into a little roadside store and purchased a stars and bars fake license plate. Stuck that on the rear shelf of the rental and proceeded on my merry way. I remember driving by another little POS roadside store and some cop got all excited and pulled out in a rather reckless manner to tail me. I think. I also think that as soon as he saw the window display he changed his mind and backed off.
Further on down the little two lane highway I got passed at high speed by another car... driven by a brother. To this day I wonder if he was also reacting to the window display.
Finally when I got back to California I stuck the stars and bars in the rear window of my pickup. Within a week or so a brother friend of mine took me aside, and gently informed me of how offensive he found that display. I removed it immediately and within days it was in the trash, where it belonged.
To my way of thinking, it was just a sort of country emblem, reminiscent of early 70's rock bands like Creedence and CSN&Y. I had no idea it would trigger some so. My apologies.

This should not need to be pointed out.
But it does need to be pointed out, apparently, and repeatedly.
And, actually, the thread topic here is Ex President* Trump.

In 1990ish or so, nobody in Georgia would likely have much reaction to any display of the confederate flag, neither the cop nor the (assumed) Black guy. That doesn't mean it wasn't offensive to a lot of people, even then. But it would have been freely displayed by bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, who don't fly it anymore. Times change.

And I'm pretty sure the black guy who passed me at high speed had a problem with it.
As did my black friend back in California.
Then again, California has usually been at the forefront of social progress, at least in the more progressive areas that I usually frequent.

Jeez, anytime '87 to 93 would seem to most reasonable people to be 90ish. Wha-tever. Anyway, I didn't mean to imply that some random Black guy in Georgia would not be offended. But if he responded with vehicle aggression every time he passed or was passed by a Confederate flag or other symbolism he would have been constantly speeding, honking, yada wherever he went in Georgia. I'm just saying yours wasn't likely the first nor the last rebel traitor flag he'd seen that day.Ulysses wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 8:09 pmIt was more like 1987 than 1990ish.O Really wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 7:22 pmIn 1990ish or so, nobody in Georgia would likely have much reaction to any display of the confederate flag, neither the cop nor the (assumed) Black guy. Could have been more like 1985. Maybe 1984. What the fuck difference does it make?O Really wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 9:30 pmJeez, anytime '87 to 93 would seem to most reasonable people to be 90ish. Like I said, I cannot be certain of the guy's reaction, since he was by in a flash. It was however unusual in that most traffic I encountered on that road was sedate.
What did stick out even more was the Boss Hog Sheriff clone who saw me coming by and scurried to his squad car in front of the little roadside store, until he evidently caught glimpse of the, as has been put, the "rebel traitor flag". IDK, it could all be just a bad dream I had. Augusta was like that.

Never mind my question, O Really explained it.
It was just Useless being childishly pretentious, as usual, and you called him out for it.

Well, it's 2021 now and I still see license plates and t shirts around here in tribute to it. What I think is weird is that you see American flags with trump's face superimposed on it (which is against flag etiquette) but I've never seen his face on the Confederate flag.O Really wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 9:30 pmJeez, anytime '87 to 93 would seem to most reasonable people to be 90ish. A man holds a Confederate flag with a depiction of then presidential candidate Donald Trump during a campaign rally in Florida on Nov. 3, 2016.

It's amazing that this half-witted trumpsucker calls Rep. Eric Swalwell a "disgrace to God and country."
By this, we have to assume that God speaks this type pf language?

FYI in case you didn't know - If you just post the Twitter link without putting it in "url" boxes, it posts here. That said, sometimes I prefer just posting the link. If that was your intent, never mind.

Leo Lyons, Useless has been throwing a tantrum all because he couldn't name the supposed "Frisco haters" here that he hallucinated, and after being caught being a Schrödinger's Douchebag over the name "Frisco".Ulysses wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 3:17 pmBecause insults are usually all (Vrede too) has to offer?
Liar and crybaby. Poor thing.![]()
Not that I mind. I got him/her/it on ig. And when the ig doesn't block someone else from quoting His Royal Hindness, I just laugh out loud at his febrility.
I have a fever? Feeble, Useless, feeble.
