Ex President* Trump

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I guess Hall Monitor Vrudy has some value after all.

I confess it was I who injected the Chinese alphabet into the maelstrom after Useless incorrectly used "import" instead of "impart" a couple of miles back. I was poking him over not being able to correctly use the 26 characters of our language to get his idea across and opining about how he's lucky to not live in China, whose language is made up of about 50,000 characters. Dividing 50,000 by 26 reveals the comprehension deficit factor we're dealing with.

It's my understanding that the pictographic nature of Chinese characters makes it a lot simpler to figure out what an unfamiliar one represents. I dimly remember taking a Chinese language course some decades ago. Have forgotten most of it. And they bypassed the pictographic written form entirely, as I recall.

Of course I might have dreamed it all.

They are not pictographs but more like phrases or what we would call short groups of words; the Chinese characters do not represent letters as the English alphabet does. The Japanese have two separate systems; one is ancient and follows the Chinese pattern of one character representing a short descriptive idea. The other is modern and is more in line with our alphabetic system. The Japanese have no concept or character representing our letter "L" or even the sound of it. Look at a map of Japan; you won't find a town or place with an "L" in it.

First thing this morning I had an email from Donald trump Jr titled "Woke mob wanted my shirts cancelled. So I made MORE." Well, that did it. I had to reply as so: "Fuck you Donny. With any luck you'll soon be broke and in prison just like your idiot father." I guess I got on their list quite some time ago (when daddy idiot was still president) when I signed up for some kind of bullshit plea for supporters to donate money to them. All I ever did was send them hate mail, though. This only proves that they don't read any of their messages but only suck up the money.

No problem; I don't sweat the small stuff.
There was a time when you and I were opposites, but time, age, and wisdom has apparently mended that rift.
We just gotta make do with who and what we are; none of us are perfect, so we'll just cuss and fuss --- then grin and bear it.
