So, I settled on providing direct healthcare and letting others deal with all the administrative stuff. Ended up doing something I love - paid and volunteer - with no desire to move into management. I'm honored and very lucky to have spent 20+ years at it.

My fiancee is currently attending school to be a nurse. Seems like a good choice.

Same here with management. Depending on the field, even if I were offered a hefty raise I doubt I'd take a management position. You quite literally have no off-time. There is no work-life balance. I'd rather enjoy the shit out of my life. It boils down to how much your time is worth I suppose.

Frustrated closet queens often seek abuse to punish themselves for the perceived (consciously or subconsciously) transgressions of their secret desires.

There's a certain logic to it. If their secret desire is g a y sex , and their simplistic belief system says g a y sex is evil, then they themselves must be evil and deserving of scorn and punishment.

I have to agree with you there, but Homer hasn't expressed any religious inclinations, whereas you claim to be a Christian,
so who are you to chide someone for producing no fruit?

I've had several people to "witness" to me to try to turn me from my evil ways, but I feel that I'll do my own turning in my own time when I'm ready. I haven't a clue how Catholics lead others to the Lord, but I do know this, because I heard someone say one time about someone who claimed Christianity: "If that's being a Christian, I want no part of it". I would think that it would be shameful for one to portray a life dedicated to Christ, and actually live a life that others find repulsive or questionable. If I were a Christian, I would attempt to live it so no one would question my "fruit production".

I have never in my life heard someone who proclaimed Christianity tell another STFU.
