NFL fines Packers $300K, Aaron Rodgers $15K for COVID-19 protocol violationsGoCubsGo wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 9:31 pmCry kAaron cry.
Aaron Rodgers 'Didn't Expect' Negative Response to Vaccination Statements, Is 'Very Unhappy': Source
That would hurt.... Any further protocol violations could result in increased discipline for the Packers, including a loss of draft picks.
... The NFL bristled at one claim in particular made by Rodgers, who said a league doctor had told him it is impossible for a vaccinated person to contract COVID-19. The league released a statement hours after the interview asserting none of its doctors had spoken with Rodgers at all, much less told him such an obviously wrong piece of information.
Rodgers would later make a repeat appearance on Tuesday, saying he took "full responsibility" for comments perceived to be misleading and shrugging off any further criticism.
Experience without high expectations.... The Panthers intend to start backup quarterback P.J. Walker in his absence, according to the report.
Ouch.... Carolina will face the 8-1 Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
LOL, well I *could* have posted the entire skit, but felt pretty sure someone would complain about it, so I searched for this very brief version.
When has anyone complained about the length of a video you posted, ever? Personally, I don't open any of them, especially the whiny signature spam vids.
It's not the dollar amount, it's the wink wink "symbolism of the league takes this seriously ".O Really wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 10:39 amSo the NoFunLeague's fine to Rodgers amounts to less than two hours pay - IF he worked full time all year and made only the minimum of his salary. He isn't going to notice or miss the fine. As to $300K for the league? Just rolled into general expense and nobody feels any effect. Preferential treatment for high flying Green Bay, or just an indication the NFL isn't going to take violations seriously? Would the lowly Jags get the same treatment?
Was Kaaron Rodgers docked for missing a game? A 1/17 pay cut would hurt a little bit.
Win or lose IMO if you're not available because of your own stupidity you don't get paid, just like the rest of the working world.O Really wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 11:19 amDunno about the pay docking. I'd doubt it, but be in favor of it. They aren't paying players for a game that is forfeited because of covid. The KC game wasn't forfeited, but a good argument could be made that Rodgers' refusal to get the vax did likely cost them the win.
Oh wait . . .Vrede too wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 10:36 pmReport: Scapula fracture to sideline Panthers QB Sam Darnold
That takes a lot of force to crack a scapula. Maybe the rest during a likely failed season is a good thing.Experience without high expectations.... I didn't see that coming, but maybe I should have.Reunited: Panthers, (now vaccinated) QB Cam Newton agree to terms following Sam Darnold injury
... Now that the Panthers have officially signed Newton, that sets up a fascinating matchup in Week 11 when they face the Washington Football Team. Washington is now coached by Ron Rivera, who was the head coach of the Panthers during Newton's entire tenure.
It's not likely that Newton starts Sunday when the Panthers take on the Arizona Cardinals, since the timeline is so tight. Carolina does have a starter lined up: P.J. Walker. The 26-year-old Walker has made just one other start in his NFL career, a 20-0 win against the Detroit Lions last season in which he threw two interceptions. The Panthers also signed Matt Barkley on Tuesday, a career backup QB who has thrown 11 touchdowns and 22(!) interceptions over his seven-year career.
Wish the Panthers and Cam great success!Vrede too wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 1:34 pmOh wait . . .Vrede too wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 10:36 pmReport: Scapula fracture to sideline Panthers QB Sam Darnold

It's a weird NFL season.
