I'm in Asheville now, but plan to get out of town at high speed before the America haters show up. I don't think Romney is going to be the "next President of the US" despite a bump from his good debate performance. If I actually did, I might have gone to see him if I weren't in Florida this week. I've gone to see a lot of people in or running for office that I didn't agree with politically, just because they are part of history one way or the other. Romney isn't likely to be one of those. He'll be more like Dukakis, a trivia question on Jeopardy.

I've never met Romney, but I had a couple of frat brothers who were his contemporaries at Cranbrook. Both these guys were from families that weren't impressed by somebody who was a governor or head of a "second tier" company like American Motors. Both thought he was a jerk and a wimp. People change with maturity, and Romney has some good career accomplishments, but I gotta say that his negatives now are really similar to those my brothers knew at Cranbrook when he was bullying the less strong.
