There was one comment, very long and obtuse, going on about Thatcher's clothes. Nowhere in there did I see the thatch the snatch phrase. After that I decided to get a thatch hat but still keep my umbrella. I never went to the other links due to insight.

More likely they regarded my non-British supervisor as such, which he did indeed turn out to be. There's more to that story but not for this audience.
