Oddity: 3 successful NFL onside kicks yesterday, just 4 the entire season before that.
Edit: And another one just now for AZ with 0:34 left and 7 points down.
Edit: To no avail, LAR wins.

It was nice while it lasted.
Speaking of that -

Josh Allen — seen in walking boot — suffered foot sprain vs. Bucs

Is it Trubisky time? Next up for the Bills, Panthers.
And another one tonight! Good game. Opps, you just beat me to it!

If Allen's out (betcha he plays, he's a beast), the Panthers may have a half a chance.....

Spooky.

Someone here broached the 'Belichick or Brady?' debate earlier in the season.
Brady vs. Belichick? Nope, that's the wrong question

Even before they split up after 20 years in New England, the debate concerning Bill Belichick and Tom Brady was which one was more instrumental in the Patriots' success?

Was it the quarterback drafted 199th overall who turned into a six-time Super Bowl winner? Or was it the coach who was fired in Cleveland only to reemerge as a strategist and game manager without peer — winning with unheard of consistency in the salary cap era?

The proper answer, of course, was “both.”

Together they formed the greatest winning machine of all time, feeding off the other’s genius.

Considering where we are with three-quarters of the 2021 season done, it might now be a subtly different adjective: “each.”

As of Monday, Tom Brady was the betting favorite to be named the NFL's Most Valuable Player (-150, per BetMGM). At age 44 he's thrown for 4,134 yards and 36 touchdowns while leading Tampa Bay to a 10-3 record, just a half-game behind Arizona for the top spot in the NFC.

Also as of Monday, Bill Belichick was the betting favorite to be named the NFL's Coach of the Year (+125) after retooling the Pats post-Brady and riding a vicious defense and a rookie quarterback to a 9-4 record and the top spot in the AFC.

Brady and Belichick are dominating this NFL season. They are doing it apart this time, on their own this time — each, this time.

The ultimate result would be a New England-Tampa Bay Super Bowl matchup, which is certainly possible. The Bucs (+220 at BetMGM) are the favorite to beat out Arizona or Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay win the NFC. The Patriots are +300, trailing only Kansas City to come out of the AFC....
Ugh.

Docs Reveal Ex-NFL Player Had Severe Brain Injury When He Killed 6

Anybody here ever played football?
Former NFL player Phillip Adams had a severe degenerative brain injury when he killed six people in April, including a family doctor and his grandkids, before turning the gun on himself, Boston University researchers found.

Dr. Ann McKee, a neuropathologist at Boston University, released findings on Tuesday that showed Adams had Stage 2 chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in the frontal lobes of his brain, according to WCNC.

“Mr. Adams’ CTE pathology was different than the other young NFL players with CTE,” McKee said. “It was different in that it was unusually severe in both frontal lobes.”

Adams went on a shocking, unprovoked shooting rampage outside Rock Hill in South Carolina in which he gunned down family doctor Robert Lesslie, 70, his wife, Barbara, 69, and their two grandkids, Adah, 9, and Noah, 5. Two repairmen, Robert Shook and James Lewis, were also fatally shot while they fixed an air conditioner.

An now all those nice college jobs he coulda had will now ghost him if not openly shun him. Dude screwed up - big time. Of course, one of his former The Ohio State players commented that Karma had bit. Amazing what an asshole you can get by being when you're winning championships and how badly that works when you're 2-10.

I see bunches of headlines about players, former players and others dancing on his professional grave. I haven't bothered opening them yet. Good riddance.

Caught an STD during that Ohio trip? Baaad floozy.

<holding nose> Go @LA Traitors 8-5, 2nd AFC West > 3.5 point favorite Kansas City 9-4, 1st AFC West tonight. Leave the door open for Denver 7-6 or Las Vegas Traitors 6-7 to catch up, and give KC a setback among the AFC leaders.

Bills fans raise $40K for visual impairment charity in honor of referees in Buccaneers game

I don't have an opinion on the non-call, but that's a really funny response to it.

That is funny, but the Bill's could have just tackled the Bucs receiver in overtime and taken care of business.
Whatever happened to personal responsibility?
