Wingnutties out of control!

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Here's another that shows what was included in "Virginia" at the time it became one of the 13 in 1776. Source "History of Virginia" Wikipedia.

Plus what was included in NC, SC and GA - all the way to the Mississippi River for each.

Now, please tell me where it mentions Kentucky, Tennessee, or any of the other leftover states...
You are such a moron!!! They didn't exist because they were part of VA, NC, etc. Thus, Nashville is as much a part of the original 13 as Raleigh is.

Neither of those places NOW called Kentucky, Tennessee, etc. were named that at the time. But the land that is NOW called by those names belonged to some of the original 13. Virginia was huge. Michigan wasn't listed as an original 13, either, but what is now Michigan belonged to Virginia then.
Alaska used to belong to Russia. Texas used to be part of Mexico. Land boundaries and control change. You can list the original 13, but you can't portray the land holdings using present day boundaries. Not that hard.

All he had to do to keep from looking so ignorant was read my post, but as Ulysses has declared - reading my posts has been a "waste" of his time.

Again, Tennessee and Kentucky were NOT among the 13 original states of America. They might have been in part, part of some other states as counties, but certainly not as separate states, just like Michigan was once part of Connecticut (I think, I don't really give a shit).

And I was right when I said this would trigger the trigger happy. Not necessarily what I wanted, but it was what I expected. Thanks to you all who fulfilled that expectation. Maybe I should become a fortune teller?

FWIW, the internet apparently has never heard the term Leftover States.

One would think even as a colloquialism there would be some hits.

No one ever said that they were "separate states" back then, moron. Your desperate lying straw men when you've been proven wrong are pathetic. VA and NC were also not "separate" from what we now call Tennessee and Kentucky, duh. There never were "leftovers", idiot. There were huge states that later divided, with portions of them retaining the original name. Why are you so befuddled by this when we've ALL explained and proved it to you in different ways?
And I was right when I said this would trigger the trigger happy. Not necessarily what I wanted, but it was what I expected. Thanks to you all who fulfilled that expectation. Maybe I should become a fortune teller?

Ok, Neo Navarro. Here's what. It's always been hard for a territory to become a state. Lots of shit to sort out. After the Louisiana Purchase in 1803 all of a sudden the US had a bunch more land. It took decades for this land to sort itself out into states. Meanwhile, the guys who drew maps were beside themselves not knowing what to do. Evidently they just extended the existing boundaries of the existing states or territories at the time in horizontal lines that went to the far boundaries of the recent land purchase. That seems to be what happened. This process of becoming a state and thus having your own state boundaries went on for the next 140 years or so. The last two territories to become states did so in 1959, about 90 years after becoming part of US territory. All of this made up controversy you made up is because of your consistent failure of comprehension with regard to what the initial subject is. After that, you zing off in all directions with irrelevant comparisons and barely cognizant gibberish. Are you sure you're not Peter Navarro?

None of this drivel establishes that Kentucky and Tennessee were US states at the time the USA was created. I've already posted the relevant material from the Articles of Confederation. Pay attention, Hominies.

You still fail middle school History, Geography and Comprehension, sad. The Articles of Confederation named VA and NC, but the undeniable fact that you're cowering from is that what we now call Kentucky and Tennessee were as much a part of VA and NC as Richmond and Raleigh are. We have ALL explained this to you and even showed you the maps, but you remain too stupid to understand it or too much of a pussy to admit being wrong. Your masochistic arrogance in the face of unanimous condemnation is pathetic.

Doubtful.

I fully expect they will continue to try to claim that counties within states are really states-in-training.

There's no accounting for illogic like that.

So I won't even try.
