I've been following the series of mishaps with this plane the past couple of weeks....this battery business is probably some low voltage system they tried to save a thousand dollars on with cheap batteries or something. I'd almost bet it turns out to be some minor oversight, but the damage to the company is already here.

Yeah, the first Charleston plane went into service in April '12, so the Japanese planes at least aren't some of theirs. My thread title is blatant taunting. I agree it's probably minor, but what an awful hit for the company.

Yep, not a good thing for Boeing or America. Hope they find it fast; last I heard, they have a team rushing to Japan even now...industry guys, FAA, etc.

It's a good thing they weren't built in Florida. They'd never get off the ground.

That low-voltage problem walks on two legs down there; you know, a short just beneath the hairline and slightly above the eyeballs.

Guess I'm safe ... I don't have a discernible hairline, Leo.

However, there is a huge Martin-Marietta plant in this town and I used to build parts for F-16 aircraft when I was in my early 20's (in a different town) ... hey, those F-16 crashes were not my fault ... I blame it on the quality control guy!
