I've decided to have a BLT sandwich except without the tomato. I fucking hate tomato and never did like anything soft and squishy in my mouth unless it was the tongue or other part of a human female. I like tomato soup and catsup but not the actual tomato. This whole thing about the sandwich is because I took some good medicine not long ago and its made me real fucking hungry. I know what bacon smells like and I can smell it even now.
So neo has an aversion to tomatoes. I like them, but then I like most foods. Liver, not so much. And tongue (from a cow), ew. There is another food I hated when I was a kid, but for some reason I can't remember it now. But I'll know it if it's served.
Part of the reason why I like tomatoes may be related to having spent about 85% of my life in California. Add to that having attended a University where "Tomato Day" was an annual event. Although I admit most of the tomatoes one finds in a supermarket are relatively tasteless. The best places to get tomatoes are direct from a grower or at a specialty store.

It's been a long time, but I liked tongue. It is different in taste and texture from other muscles. Maybe not so much if it's smoked and shredded. Maybe I'll get some to see if I still like it.

It's been a long time, but I liked tongue. It is different in taste and texture from other muscles. Maybe not so much if it's smoked and shredded. Maybe I'll get some to see if I still like it.
The first time I had it was at a cocktail type party. It was rubbery.
The slow cooked, smoked and shredded is tender and full of beef flavor.
We really do need a Mexican food truck on every corner like Steve King promised.

Looks like a crew boat. There was no crew boat involved. Don't get the connection, but that's OK. I'm just glad to know you're having fun. I used to watch (sometimes) UC Berkeley crews practising out at the Berkeley Marina lagoon just east of the freeway. Interesting.
