"Put some sunflower seeds in your pockets that way when you die on Ukrainian soil flowers will grow"

Damn woman that's some top tier insult.

Less poetic but perhaps equally effective: "Go fuck yourself back in Russia".
Ukraine roads company removing road signs to confuse Russians

A Ukrainian company in charge of building and maintaining roads said it was removing all road signs that could be used by invading Russian forces to find their way around the country.

"The enemy has poor communications, they cannot navigate the terrain," the company Ukravtodor said in a Facebook update late on Friday. "Let us help them get straight to hell."

It posted an edited photo of a standard road sign in which directions to nearby cities have been replaced with profanities that could be translated as "Go fuck yourself", "Go fuck yourself again" and "Go fuck yourself back in Russia".
:---P

Q: How do I get to the front, comrade?
A: Put these sunflower seeds in your pockets, follow Go fuck yourself Lane, then turn left at Go fuck yourself again Road. You can't miss it.

Seems to be working now. There's some sort of DDoS Guard page that says it's checking your browser. You see it on arrival and each time you navigate to a new page, but only for a few seconds.

Ukrainian chorus performs hymn in solemn SNL cold open

After a monthlong hiatus for the Winter Olympics, Saturday Night Live returned Saturday with a solemn and moving tribute to Ukraine's ongoing struggle against Russian aggression.

The broadcast began with Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong standing side by side. "Ladies and gentlemen: the Ukrainian Chorus Dumka of New York," they said, Strong beginning the sentence and McKinnon finishing it. "Dumka" is a Ukrainian musical term for a short, often melancholic folk ballad....

The chorus performed a piece called "A Prayer for Ukraine," a patriotic hymn dating to the 19th century, NPR reported. According to one translation, the lyrics are as follows:

Lord, oh the Great and Almighty,

Protect our beloved Ukraine,

Bless her with freedom and light

Of your holy rays.

With learning and knowledge enlighten

Us, your children small,

In love pure and everlasting

Let us, oh Lord, grow.

We pray, oh Lord Almighty,

Protect our beloved Ukraine,

Grant our people and country

All your kindness and grace.

Bless us with freedom, bless us with wisdom,

Guide [us] into [a] kind world,

Bless us, oh Lord, with good fortune

For ever and evermore.
:( Good on SNL.

Time for all the bad actors to step on stage.
Putin orders Russian nuclear deterrent forces to be on highest alert

I don't know what the equivalent Defcon is but no reaction is the best reaction (hope it stays that way) as I'm sure U.S. forces are already paying close attention.

Vlad's acting desperate and it's not pretty. If he keeps it up he could be out of a job.

Putin basically united NATO and the entire western world (and beyond) and wrecked his country. Way to go. Probably one of the most colossal geopolitical fuck ups ever.

Come Monday people are expecting a run on Russian banks. The Russian banking system is probably going to completely collapse.

Oh yeah - so remember our stable genius ex president chiming in saying how genius Putin's invasion of Ukraine was? Well, that certainly aged badly rather quickly.

Hopefully it will only get worse for Pootie-Poot. Although I've read he's got plenty of hidden savings stashed away so he personally will be somewhat insulated, as will his oligarch buddies. But not his people, who after a few weeks of abject international poverty may think twice about supporting his evilness.

Russian climate official apologizes for Ukraine invasion: Reports

The leader of the Russian delegation at an Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) conference on Sunday apologized for Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Agence France-Presse reported....

"Let me present an apology on behalf of all Russians not able to prevent this conflict," Russia's Oleg Anisimov reportedly said at the closing plenary meeting. Those who see what is happening "fail to find any justification for the attack on Ukraine," he added.

Anisimov, a veteran climate scientist who has authored previous IPCC reports, expressed "huge admiration" for the Ukraine delegation, which has kept working even as its country is under attack from its much larger neighbor.

Participants told AFP that everyone present found Anisimov's comments moving, especially in light of the fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin is known for ruthlessly punishing internal dissidents. "He knows that there is a risk for him; it was a very sincere message," said one participant....

"The surprise intervention from Russia’s Oleg Anisimov at the closed-door meeting followed an electrifying live statement from his Ukrainian counterpart, Svitlana Krakovska, who spoke passionately about her country's plight," AFP reported.

"We will not surrender in Ukraine, and we hope the world will not surrender in building a climate-resilient future," Krakovska said in English, according to AFP's sources.

"Human-induced climate change and the war on Ukraine have the same roots — fossil fuels — and our dependence on them," she added. It is unclear what exactly she meant by that, but Russia's economy is heavily dependent on oil and gas revenues, and Europe's dependence on Russian gas has made it unwilling to extend its sanctions to cutting off Russia's ability to sell gas on the continent. If Europe did not rely on fossil fuels to generate energy, it might be able to more effectively counter Russian aggression, according to global energy market experts....

US, Swiss announce new sanctions; Russia calls economic moves 'problematic

The sanctions seem to be more than Vlad has bargained for and the effect is palpable and the ground war is not going his way.

He's cornered and that makes it doubly dangerous.

Smart money would think that it's time to help him find an elegant way out of this if the goal is not deposing him.
