The Cinema Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I get that you're desperate to post after me because it gives you some sort of kinky thrill, but the least you could do is get off your lazy ass and tell us whether you like the movies or not. It's stupid to treat this thread like some sort of list of indeterminately watchable movies.

So weird. Anytime anyone posts anything about a book or a movie he immediately posts about some crap book he might have read, or a movie he has "captured", but never watched.

You're cowering from the point - your failure in not attaching your own opinions to these movies that you list.

I posted an article in the Book thread. Almost immediately he posts about some Jr High cowboy book he "just" finished. It really is weird. Some sort of One Up obsession.

No, not really.

It's just when someone posts to a dormant thread it moves it up in the listing. So naturally it's more prominent.

I have never seen such a group of whiny bitches.

It's like you all get disturbed if someone reads your gibberish. Go figure.

Not my problem.

OTOH, it's probably a good thing. It helps keep some of you off the streets.

I've watched several old black and white movies lately that I won't post here about. Also reading a book now about America's first civil war; between the Loyalists and the Patriots which I also will not offer any sort of review on. Speaking of gibberish, how about you go ride another bus, hope you're not mistaken for the crazy person in a random conflict, become enamored with yet another bus driver, get off and miraculously spy a prime feline strutting along the walk. You know what to do next.

Well, pardon me all over the place. I must have had a dream or else saw it in an old movie, but I would have sworn that you just a couple of days ago related to us all a story about how a kindly bus driver rescued you from a crazy person, even though you neglected to explain why the bus driver could tell that you weren't the crazy person. But never mind that. And if I'm not mistaken you commented on that particular bus driver at least once after that initial honorable mention. I think you send him flowers in the next movie. sweet

OIC.

The bus driver was standing on the sidewalk about ten feet from his parked bus during our whole conversation. I was on foot, walking home from the BART station. I never said I got on the bus. I never said I rode the bus. The bus driver was probably taking a break before his next route was due to start.

Now do you understand?

It clears up your investment strategy, but does nothing much more than that. I don't have much experience with bus drivers, but the ones I've had occasion to be in contact with were driving a fucking bus. Isn't that weird?

OK, try to wrap what's left of your brain around these facts:

1) The BART station (BART being the prime rapid transit train/subway over here) is a terminus for various bus lines. So it's not uncommon to see buses sitting there waiting to load up on passengers. This one was waiting for at least five minutes, maybe longer. IDK, like I said, I haven't ridden a bus in a coon's age

2) This bus driver was taking a break outside his bus. You know, to stretch his legs? I don't take you for a stickler for rules, and insist that bus drivers never leave their coaches even if they have a 15 minute layover. Or, maybe you are. IDK, you could be, due to all the pharmaceuticals you imbibe on a regular basis.

3) I hope you understand now. If not, I give up. You be you.

‘West Side Story’ Star Rachel Zegler Doesn’t Have a Ticket to the Oscars — Will Disney Give One Up for Her?

Latina Zegler stars as Maria. She isn't nominated, but the film is in seven categories including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Actress. Hard to imagine these without an amazing Maria. :wtf:

As I was reading this article I couldn't help thinking of:

‘West Side Story’ star Rachel Zegler reportedly gets invite to Oscars after uproar

“West Side Story” star Rachel Zegler may get her Oscars moment after all. The 20-year-old actor has been invited to be a presenter at the ceremony, according to a report in The Hollywood Reporter.

The gesture came two days after Zegler, who plays Maria, posted on social media that she had not been invited to the awards and would be rooting for “West Side Story” from her couch. The Steven Spielberg film is nominated for seven Academy Awards, including best picture, director and supporting actress for Ariana DeBose, who is expected to win.

The post drew a lot of attention online as many couldn’t fathom why the lead of a best picture nominee wouldn’t have been invited to the ceremony or at least been asked to present an award....
