So really - how hard could it be to schedule a tournament among the top 25 teams. You'd get to the championship game in about half what they're doing now. And they could still run a NIT-type consolation show for the also-rans.

The FCS is a mix of conference champs and at large slots. So, most but not all of the top 24 get in. Disappointing for the bubble losers, but it's almost certain that the best in the nation is among the 24. I don't have a problem with this system, though if they want to someday expand to 32 teams that's fine. It wouldn't even add a week of games, just more games the first week.

I doubt that there would be an NIT-type tourney, but they could retain as many bowls as they wanted for the also-rans.

And with Bo Jackson, they made for a hell of a backfield.

It's a little amazing how many come back and finish school after the NFL

When I was a kid, we had HO Gilbert model trains. Sadly, when we moved, we had to leave them all behind.

There's a great hardware store in Berkeley, on Milvia and University Avenue, next door to the UCB campus, with model trains running on elevated tracks about 15 feet above the main floor. The staff keep them running most of the time the store is open (and probably when it's closed, too!).

I think it was this one - There are a lot of "Weagle Weagle" shirts for sale. Funny I'd never heard of it before, given billy.p's affinity for all things Auburn.
