Cawthorn

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

It'll make for great campaign flyers.

Madison Cawthorn Partying in Lingerie May Be the Least Offensive Thing He’s Done
Image

... Cawthorn, 26, was raised in a conservative Baptist community in Henderson County, North Carolina, and has staked his political persona on arch-traditional Christian principles and the insistence of the importance of a kind of hypermasculinity....

“I was raised on Proverbs and pushups,” Cawthorn said in a podcast in September 2020.

“I subscribe to Judeo-Christian beliefs,” he continued. “I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I think if you think about my political ideology, where it really stems from, you know, my ethics and my morals and what I think is right and wrong, you look to ancient Jerusalem, you got ancient Judeo-Christian values. So right and wrong,” he continued. “I also cling to a lot of traditional values and a lot of traditional ideas, because they’ve worked in the past.”

“I think that we have bred a generation of soft men and that generation has created a lot of problems in our society and our culture,” he said in March 2021 on a podcast “designed to reclaim and restore masculinity in a society that is ever more dismissive of what it means to be a man.”

“There’s only one God and two genders,” he said in a tweet earlier this week.

Not that it was really in doubt, but there's something seriously wrong with this boy.

He's his own little crime wave.

From previous link:

"This is not the first time a gun has been discovered on Cawthorn at an airport. In February 2021, TSA found a 9 millimeter handgun in Cawthorn’s carry-on bag at Asheville Regional Airport. Cawthorn did not face any criminal charges for the incident."

Since the NC authorities seem so reluctant to press charges, not so sure "he's his own little crime wave" is accurate. Maybe OR can edumacate us, but if the authorities decline to charge somebody for some activity, is that activity really a crime?

Good chance. Local TV is flooded with Edwards ads and with "independent" committee attacks on MadCaw. I've yet to see a single MadCaw ad. Edwards will be worse - just as much a hateful con, likely more effective and won't be a poster boy for how bad RepuQs are. Crap.

You beat me to posting about the latest airport gun.

I heard the same thing. He's raised more than Edwards (I think), but has far less in the bank.

Vote for mad in the primary and turn on him after.

That's my tentative plan, but I may decide by primary day that MadCaw has done so much damage to himself that it's pointless. We'll see if other races make me grab a Repug ballot. I was thinking of voting against 45SHOLE-backed Budd for Senate, but former Gov McCrory is running an equally hateful con campaign. We'll see. Oh well, I always have the option of voting for the best Dems.

Asshole NC Senator Thom Tillis (R) is exclaiming on the seriousness of insider trading. Funny thing, he never uttered a peep about asshole NC Senator Richard Burr's (R) COVID-19 insider trading.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_B ... llegations

Ooooh, alternate NC11 RepuQ candidate Bruce O'Connell is running ads attacking Edwards for supposedly being soft on Voter ID. I suspect that the charge is false given Edwards' hatred for democracy here, but lying RepuQs are no surprise. I thought that O'Connell might be an impotent wannabe or a stalking horse for MadCaw, but he's apparently a very serious candidate. As of March 31 he's raised over $1.1M, twice as much as Edwards.
https://ballotpedia.org/North_Carolina% ... tion,_2022
Hmmm, this can only help MadCaw secure a runoff. Just a 30% plurality negates a runoff altogether, but this makes it less likely that Edwards will achieve it. I have not seen polling on the race.

Hah, great minds, the very first posts under your tweet:
Thom, don't forget your good buddy...

Nah, Burr's a member of the Tillis club. Cawthorn, not so much. The class war in the GOP is just beginning to heat up.
This is the right take. They have no morals. They just do some pretend moralizing to get rid of who they want.
Now do Burr
Came to say the same thing.
UR on the right track with this one, but what about when the senior Senator from NC was accused of similar?
Thom was oddly silent on that one.
Others continue along the same lines.
