People are crazy and times are strange. I'm locked in tight, I'm out of range.

Screw that guy/lady.A waitress says she was fired from her job at Applebee’s after posting a note from a pastor who refused to tip, writing that “I give God 10% Why do you get 18.”
..
On Wednesday, the pastor reportedly contacted the Applebee’s location where she worked and demanded that everyone involved — including the managers — be fired.

Actually, maybe starting my own church would be a good investment. I could quit my job and people will give me 10% of their income.

To top it off it's the pastor of the church. When she gives her 10% to God she's putting the money in her own business.JTA wrote:Screw that lady.A waitress says she was fired from her job at Applebee’s after posting a note from a pastor who refused to tip, writing that “I give God 10% Why do you get 18.”

Applebees doesn't get my business anyway, but you can bet they wouldn't now if I ever did frequent.

Looks like now that she's publicly busted and shamed, she's apologizing. Yeah, I'm sure that's sincere.... *after* you've already gotten someone fired.

Yeah, ole Howard was a hoot and a half. There was also that hat he wore with the little
feather in it!! But I think he was more of a sissy and a mama's boy than gay. As Andy
said, his mother's apron strings were drawn very tight. To me he was the funniest character
in the color episodes.

In America (God Bless it), we have things called restaurants. When you eat a restaurant your food and drinks are brought to you by a waiter or waitress. Patrons tip their server based on their performance to show that they were satisfied with the service they received/ This is how things work in a free country like America (God Bless it).rstrong wrote:Gal, actually. The practice of freely choosing a restaurant to dine at and tipping based on performance may sound odd to most Canadians, who often spend Friday evenings waiting for hours to receive the daily state sanctioned ration of bread and potatoes.

Devil's advocate: I haven't read much about it but I'm not entirely sure I fault Applebee's. Would any restaurant tolerate an employee outing a customer regardless of what obnoxious but legal thing the customer did? Thinking this makes me respect the waitress even more. She did the right thing despite the predictable consequences.
What do y'all think? I'm fine with being persuaded to blame Applebee's.
Someone had posted (in another forum) where Applebee's management themselves had posted a customer receipt on the internet.
I was the same way until I seen that with me own eyes.

I emailed Applebees that they lost my business. The two young women should NOT have been fired. I would like to see the Employee Manual where it says you can't out a patron for being mean spirited. I smell a couple of law suits.

Applebee's should have been down on the customer, too, and been grateful for a loss of her business. Strictly speaking, the pastor didn't simply refuse to leave a tip - she didn't pay the "service charge" which is basically the same as refusing to pay for part of your food order. Tips are voluntary - service charges are part of the bill.

If you wish to read some quite entertaining posts by Christians in their natural habitat, I stumbled across this forum.

Re: The Religion Thread
It makes little difference to me which beliefs are dominant or popular. Calvinism is an offshoot of protestantism. I am protestant only in the sense that I do not believe the Catholic church to be the one true church, that does not make me a subscriber to all of the particular doctrines of the reformers themselves. In other words, being a protestant doesn't make me a Calvinist any more than it makes you a Lutheran. Besides, my faith is based in the Word of God, not what a few theologians several hundred years ago (or today) have written.

Secondly, being documented in an old book doesn't make a concept true. I have read quite a few Calvinist apologetics pages, none of them could prevent Revelation 22:19 (and other scriptures) from punching gaping holes in their theology.

In Christ,
Josh

"Tom Tancredo, who was a congressman from Colorado and ran for president, made a bet that his state would not legalize marijuana. And of course, he lost that bet. And you know what he has to do because he lost that bet? Yes, he's got a suck on a joint. I just hope in the next few years he loses a bet on gay marriage."bannination wrote:

So is she a gal, or is she "also a female"?rstrong wrote: Gal, actually. The pastor was also female.

The waitress who was fired was not the one who waited on the poor example of a Christian, it was the one who photographed and posted the photo online that got axed; and according to what I read in the media, Applesbee's was in the right to fire her.
As with my company, or practically any company, Applebee's employment agreement is designed to protect their intellectual properties as well as protecting the customer's privacy. The receipt showed not only the Applebee's logo; (which could imply that Applebee's approved of the posting), it also showed the customer's signature. Despite the fact that the "pastor" was a rat, she had a right to her privacy.
