Thinking of moving to the country?

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

A listicle reviews some smallish cities where people are moving, or recommended as a place to move because "Portland and Austin are full."
Included is whack9 world, getting good reviews.
Greenville feels like it was focus-grouped by a committee of realtors targeting hip young homebuyers. Walkable downtown? Check. Great restaurant scene? You’ll find it at nationally acclaimed Husk, and the Gather food hall made of repurposed shipping containers. Say hi to local chefs as you peruse the farmers market in Travelers Rest, the perfect pitstop on a breezy morning bike ride down the Swamp Rabbit Trail.

The beer scene is on the rise, nipping at Asheville’s storied heels, and every Friday, the Main Street thoroughfare shuts down for an all-night street party.

Yes, leggy bacon can certainly be baked in legless ovens but the amount and kind of ridicule to be expected from legless baking will vary from campsite to campsite. One group of campers may just snicker and whisper uncomplimentary comments while another group of more activist campers may go as far as taking the wheels off your van, truck, or car and then mocking the legless baker with taunts of "now, see how this works?"
I will have to assume this is in reference to my Camp Chef mini-range.

You appear to be obsessed with that thing.

Tell you what: for $1 million you can have it. I'll even pay for the shipping to whatever bung hole in which you currently reside.

Deal?

Pretty sure you'd have to pay neo to take the EZ Bake Oven.

In the meantime, his musings are priceless.

I suggested months ago that you just pull off into the breakdown lane on the interstate, set up the legless oven right there, and start baking. And it's not me that's obsessed with the useless thing....haven't thought about it until the moment you replied to an old post of mine about it. Road bake.

1) It's not legless. It comes with little 1" long (approx) rubber legs. These are captured by the white U-channel steel runners affixed to the top of the foot stool. The whole thing is quite stable, unlike you.

2) Why would I want to "start baking" in the "breakdown lane"? Sounds like something only an insane person such as yourself would do.

3) It's not a "useless thing". It has a quite useful panoply of features, including the two big burners on top, as well as a complimentary full size non-stick griddle that fits the top perfectly. Perhaps the only useless thing here is your brain?

1. Congratulations. All along I thought it was totally legless. But then again, if the legs are "captured" by channels in the support for the thing that you'd not need if the goddamn thing had fold out metal legs in the first place, it's as if it does indeed have no legs. I bet you could pick the whole goddamn contraption up while it's baking something and tilt it at least thirty degrees and it still wouldn't topple out of the captive in channels stub of legs arrangement you've come up with. Bake on with your bake self.
2. It was only a suggestion. Besides, if you're lucky you might manage to stomp some kind of mammalian wildlife scurrying across the interstate in a frantic attempt to get back to some semblance of a safe place. Just stomp hell out of it after you catch it and cut its legs off (otherwise it won't fit in the oven) and bake that bastard to a fine crisp. I defer to your experience on what some random insane person would do or say in this or any other situation.
3. Burn and bake your panoply of burning bakeness using plenty of gas and high fire. This is best done at night; the later the better. Light up that bake baby and start baking like nobody's business.
4. neo bonus: pick five spots from O Really's list of places to take a legless camp oven and report back on what was baked and what was faked.

Yeah, I don't have a "legless camp oven". So yours is a pointless request for a "report back on what was baked and what was faked".

Furthermore, I probably won't be going to any place this year on O Really's list. Why? Because they are all state parks. My plan is to visit a national park. Not sure I wan't to reveal which national park in advance.

"pointless"??? neoplacebo did an excellent job of winding you up, again. THAT is the point. You are so easy!
Furthermore, I probably won't be going to any place this year on O Really's list. Why? Because they are all state parks. My plan is to visit a national park.
Wrong, you fail comprehension again. O Really even told you so in his intro:

That's because you would have to admit that O Really was correct when he told you that it's likely already too late to book space in a national park or a decent nearby campground.

You would.

But a more intelligent person than you would proceed to their destination park campground, check in, unpack, set up the site, pitch a tent or whatevet is needed for sleeping, and then, and only then, set about firing up the Camp Chef device to cook a meal.

But of course you'd probably do it in the center lane. Cause that's how you roll.

I recommend you bake a skunk. That way you'll have the place to yourself and people would remark about your oven. Bake it now
Ge could just grill it, make a stew. I still don't understand the reason for an oven at a campsite.
