They're sometimes convicted, probably not often enough. Idk if these are ever the result of congressional investigations or solely from LEOs acting independently. If there was anything solid on Gaetz I suspect he would have been indicted already. Maybe Barr and company buried it deep. Too bad.

Actually, the "law on this type of defamation" is definitely NOT clear. It's a major uphill battle for a public figure to win a defamation case. If it weren't difficult, politicians and their PACs would have to stick fairly close to accuracy and truth. Horrors!
