Oakland's feral cats would have made short work of that War Eagle.

Other than 5 TAMU > 9 TX in the Elimination Bracket, the seeders could not have been more wrong. 2-6, I'm 0-5 :angry-banghead: .

Go ND vs Auburn in the Finals, no preference between the two at the moment.
5 TAMU > ND 5-1  . Now 5 TAMU vs OK in a 1 or 2 game semis. Can they somehow both lose?
https://www.ncaa.com/brackets/baseball/d1/2022/cws

I'm 0-6  . O Really, why aren't you here mocking me?

Go Auburn all the way! Sorry about the kiss of death, billy.pilgrim.
Edit, top of 4th: Ut-oh, that was fast.
Edit 2, still top of 4th: I am very very sorry, billy.pilgrim. :(

 Speaking of kicking kittens, it's 9-1 in the top of the 9th, 0 outs, but the NCAA already shows no one scoring in the 9th:
https://www.ncaa.com/game/5985393/boxscore

Ouch.

Edit: Opps, 11-1 in the bottom of the 9th, 1 out, 1 on 1B.
Edit: Done, and I officially don't care about the rest of the SEC and SEC wannabe "World" Series. Vrede too out.

No, just announcing the winner after they had won. I didn't care after Auburn got knocked out.

Couldn't happen to a better school  , and the game was at Liberty.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/_18lC_1Qd9U
Ump was on the phone asking if they still got full game pay if they force the forfeit.
:D
Those 10 people that paid $5 to watch this game are furious at their loss.
That opposing coach was licking his lips waiting for that first pitch once he saw that pitcher warming up.
"So uhh, can we still play for fun while we're here?"
Never interrupt your opponent when they are making a mistake.
-- -- Napoleon
Close: “In that case,” said Napoleon, “let us wait twenty minutes; when the enemy is making a false movement we must take good care not to interrupt him.”
Let's be honest, and I get the rule, but this is probably the shttiest way to both lose, and win a game.
I could almost understand forgetting to put the third-string catcher on the roster, thinking he wouldn't get in the game, and then being caught when he has to go in after injuries. But how do you leave the starting pitcher off the roster?
That is about the perfect length of baseball game to watch.

Why do they have to turn in a roster before game time? What does an ump need to know "before the weekend" that he can't see just before the game starts? Maybe the umps do background checks on the players and turn the brown ones in to ICE? Maybe they call each player up and collect a "contribution" for favourable calls? I suppose they could verify the players' enrollment in the school, but why would that be the umps job? Or maybe it wasn't a "before the weekend" issue. The pitcher wasn't on the roster the ump had at gametime, whenever it was submitted, so he was ineligible.

It's mostly so opposing coaches know who's on the roster and can plan accordingly, not so much that the ump needs to know.

If the visiting Jacksonville (AL) State Gamecocks were confident their coach could have said something during warmup pitches. Then, it would have been 'no harm, no foul' and the pitcher would have been removed from the mound. I suppose that would be true for any player not on the roster, but it looked like it was the starting pitcher in this case - huge flub, better go pray about it. Idk if that's the coach's only chance. Could s/he wait through one batter or half an inning? Several innings? I suppose the home team has to wait until the illicit player takes a pitch or the visitors take the field and a pitch is thrown.

Maybe GoCubsGo knows. Does this ever happen in MLB or the Minors?
