She's Back

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Chris Christie, Ted Cruz and now Mitt Romney have each placed their balls and integrity in a blind trust in exchange for a Trump cabinet position. Christie and Cruz don't seem to be faring any better than Palin. Mitt might do better:

Under Obama the US government has successfully been putting massive pressure on overseas tax havens to turn on their wealthy American clients. As two of those clients, Trump and Romney will certainly be motivated to work to work together to reverse that.

He's Back?

Unread post by Vrede too »

Interesting:

Elizabeth Warren endorses Scott Brown for Veterans Affairs secretary

Made me look - Scott Brown.

I didn't know a lot of that. Pretty damn qualified, maybe a little light on managerial experience depending on further details. Even the Army National Guard's head defense attorney in New England, defense!

Plus, he's already a pin-up in a lot of barracks.

Image

Sorry, couldn't resist. I can't believe that Palin is even in the same conversation.

Remember during her election campaign when Katie Couric asked her what magazines and papers she read on a regular basis? She couldn't even come up with an answer; she said something like "all of them" or some such nonsense. As for her return to Faux, this just proves that not only does money talk, but bullshit does, too.
And talks and talks and talks . . .
https://www.businessinsider.com/schmidt ... gop-2022-5
... Palin, who served as the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee under the late Sen. John McCain, is currently running for Congress.

In a Twitter thread, (Steve) Schmidt, who was a senior campaign strategist and advisor to McCain during the senator's unsuccessful 2008 presidential bid and pushed Palin as a running mate for the GOP nominee, launched a litany of attacks on the ex-governor.

"When the campaign ended I refused to let Sarah Palin speak," Schmidt wrote of the concession speech that he put into motion for McCain to offer on election night in Arizona. "I placed the phone call to Barack Obama for the concession and did everything I could to make sure a beautiful speech wasn't disgraced by the nut ball from Alaska."

He continued: "Palin understood the party of personal responsibility was dead and replaced by a whining victim cult of losers who routinely lied and blamed others for their failings. Palin went on the attack after the campaign. You see, it wasn't that she was ignorant and unprepared. It wasn't that she was a pathological liar who became intoxicated by fame and grievance. She was a victim!"

Schmidt said that McCain tried to push Palin down a different ideological path to no avail.

"John McCain's last words to Palin on election night were a warning," the former advisor wrote. "He said don't be pulled in 'by the extremists like Limbaugh.' It was too late and he knew it." ...

Looks like Rebecca can't tell lies from truth. Tough shit for her but I suspect she deserves it. Hopefully she won't spawn or even swim upstream.

Someone running for US Rep should try not to say stupid stuff, but I guess Palin just can't help herself.

She's won a special election open primary on June 11, 2022, but now there's a runoff:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Alas ... l_election

It get complicated because the special election runoff on August 16 is the same day as the regular election primary.

You have to question how effed up our electoral system is when Alaska gets one out of 435 congresscritters and two out of 100 senators.

Same with North Dakota, South Dakota and others.

Maybe there should only be one senator per state. Or maybe we should get rid of all 100 of them. After all, there's enough wingnuts in the House to cover for the dozen or so in the Senate. Actually some of the senators should be killed; god wants them to die. Hawley, Cruz, Johnson, Blackburn, Graham, Lee, Scott just to name a few.

It should be more like the house, 100 senators, one for every 33,000,000 people.

Now try and do it without gerrymandering.

How much fun would it be to see Alaska, the Dakotas, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska get a quarter Senator combined.
