Video now posted above.
Often too many extraneous letters when you've gotten to YT from an intermediate site. One can figure where to cut them off, but when I see longer than the normal string I just search the title on YT to get a "clean" link. You also have to remember to remove the "=" and everything before it.

Re: Animals
Thanks - it was an unusual url. First digit after the "=" was an underscore. Is that included?

Re: Animals
You would leave it, but in this instance the first digit after the "=" was not an underscore. Here's what you tried to post as a video:

You'll have to quote me to see the whole thing.
Here's what the "clean" link looks like:

Here's the part you use to post it as a video on BRD:

Thanks.
BTW, on a related note, have you seen the CNN "Patagonia - Life on the Edge of the World" series? It's excellent.

It would very likely make it but I wouldn't really go for some of the same reasons I don't drive to Alaska although many people do every year. You're not likely to get stranded but if you do you're really in deep shit. Now is somebody wants to lend their Earth Explorer...Vrede too wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 12:55 pmYes, I watched Ep 1. Sure we'll take an extra rider as long as they remember the first ndamental guest rule: Cocktails for 6; Dinner for 4; Sleeping for 2.
Actually we've picked up riders twice - both bicyclists in pouring rain. Once in Montana and once in Oregon. Neither were really asking for a ride but they graciously accepted the offer.

I'd bring a friend and a tent - I prefer it that way - and booze. I could even bring a mini DVD recorder for watching the steamy stuff separately. We could fill out the 6 with wet bicyclists and colorful locals, but if you ain't going to Patagonia I'll look for a different bougie. Sorry.O Really wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 2:31 pmIt would very likely make it but I wouldn't really go for some of the same reasons I don't drive to Alaska although many people do every year. We did play with the idea of driving the urban assault vehicle down to Cabo. Mexico highway 1 goes the whole way, all 1K miles of it and is passable and supposedly free of bandidos. But you have to buy totally new insurance for the coach and car, and any repairs needed would be hellish. We'll stick with Ensenada.Vrede too wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 5:11 pmI'd bring a friend and a tent - I prefer it that way - and booze. I love Baja. Have you ever been? Kayaking with grey whales in Bahía Magdalena in January - February is one of the highlights of my life.O Really wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 8:18 pmWe did play with the idea of driving the urban assault vehicle down to Cabo. My experience with Mexican mechanics has been excellent and parts aren't as much of a problem in Baja as elsewhere in Mexico. At worst you lose a day waiting for them to be shipped from Tijuana or SD. It's a wealthy US ex-pat paradise, among many other things. That has its advantages for the rest of us.

Re: Animals
Yeppers. We went to Cabo San Lucas several winters, and got some great whale views. Excellent food and fun. The first year we went there, we had reserved a "junior suite" at the Playa Grande hotel. https://playagranderesort.solmar.com/
We got there to register and the guy starts quaffelling about how they don't have a junior suite available. We were about to put on our karen hats, but he continued, "I don't know what happened to your reservation, but we're really sorry and will put you into the Ridge." We said, OK, let's go look. Well, the Ridge is the truly luxury section, higher up the hill, with two-bedroom suites, large balcony overlooking the sea and marina, separate Ridge infinity pool, spa in the bathroom, stocked kitchen, and butler service. Got our stay off to a much better start than it had looked at first. We hung out on the beach, took the zodiac boat whale excursion, ate good food, drank more than our share, took our rental car out into the country including a visit and lunch at Hotel California http://www.hotelcaliforniabaja.com/gallery.html. The other trips were good, but that one was the best.

Beware where you go in Baja...
Kind of a conundrum. Touristy areas are safe, but who wants to go only to tourist-infested areas?
