Ex President* Trump

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Maybe a really bad Monday. :oII
I just had a devil of a time finding the entire screech. I searched a bunch of media sites, large and medium. All are reporting on this, most quote from his statement and some even have partial pics like you posted, but nobody linked it :headscratch: . Is this coincidence, poor reporting, or does nobody give a shit about his full rants? I finally found what I think is the whole thing on, of course  , Faux Noise.

(TRE45ON's search-day shriek)

He even whines about no one going after Hillary despite HIS DoJ finding nothing to charge her with in 4 years.

P.S. Did any of Melania's panties just appear on eBay?

FBI agents searched Melania Trump's closet during the Mar-a-Lago raid, which made Trump furious, report says

More seriously, Melania is a co-conspirator, no different from the live-in girlfriend of a meth dealer. Of course her closet gets searched, too. :violin:

Good things (seriously) that Dolt .45 did:

Covid vaccine
Minimal criminal justice reform
Wreck the GQP
Move us towards off-world colonization

Artemis
Weather remains 70% Favorable, Teams on Track to Begin Countdown Saturday

Launch on Aug. 29.

Any other good things that Dolt .45 did?

Not all would agree, but I liked the "stay in Mexico" policy for asylum seekers. Immigration law needs a major overhaul, but it looks like there will be no chance of that in any two lifetimes. If you're truly trying to escape political persecution or life endangerment in your home country, why isn't Mexico (or some other country) a good option? Why must it be US?

Finally! A Rothschild conspiracy involving a still-powerful former POTUS . . . well, not a real Rothschild, but who's counting?
Inventing Anna: The story of the fake heiress, Mar-a-Lago and an FBI investigation

For a time, Anna de Rothschild boasted of her family roots to the European banking dynasty, donning designer clothes, a Rolex watch, and driving a $170,000 black Mercedes-Benz SUV.

She talked about developing a sprawling luxury housing project on Emerald Bay in the Bahamas, a high-rise hotel in Monaco, and a Formula One race track in Miami, say people who knew her.

A pivotal moment for the woman who was fluent in several languages took place last year when she was invited to Mar-a-Lago, where she mingled with former President Donald Trump’s supporters and showed up the next day for a golf outing with Mr. Trump and Sen. Lindsey Graham among other political luminaries....

A year before the FBI’s spectacular raid of the former president’s seaside home, the woman whose real name is Inna Yashchyshyn, a Russian-speaking immigrant from Ukraine, made several trips into the estate posing as a member of the famous family while making inroads with some of the former president’s key supporters.

The ability of Ms. Yashchyshyn — the daughter of an Illinois truck driver — to bypass the security at Mr. Trump’s club demonstrates the ease with which someone with a fake identity and shadowy background can get into a facility that’s one of America’s power centers and the epicenter of Republican Party politics.

Those issues have become even more critical after FBI agents seized boxes of classified and top-secret materials two weeks ago from Mar-a-Lago after executing a search warrant on Mr. Trump’s home.

Her entry — multiple trips in and out of the club grounds — lays bare the vulnerabilities of a facility that serves as both the former president's residence and a private club, and highlights the gaps in security that can take place.

“That’s his residence,” said Ed Martin, a former U.S. Treasury special agent who spent more than two decades in criminal intelligence. “She shouldn’t have been in there.” ...
 There are both organized crime and Russia connections. Good on the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for breaking this story.

Isn't the biggest part of the problem our 100+ year exploitation of the people and resources of these countries, our wars in support of brutal dictators, our demand for drugs and our total disregard for helping them establish democracies?
Oh yeah, and our in your face bragging that everything here is sunshine and lollipops.

What billy.pilgrim says, and I could be wrong, but my understanding is that was a temporary measure implemented under the POTUS' emergency Covid powers, one that did nothing to actually protect Americans from Covid. Whether one likes the "stay in Mexico" policy or not making it permanent will require Congress to rewrite asylum law, taking into account any applicable human rights treaties the US is party to.

So back in the day (and maybe in the future) people would defect to US from USSR or East Germany or somewhere. It was clear that there was danger and that they'd need protection. Ditto the escapees from Cuba, wetfoot dryfoot rule notwithstanding, most would agree to take them in directly. But if they're fleeing Berzerkistan torture and get to Mexico, Canada, or Costa Rica, then they aren't really in danger anymore are they? They've knocked on the US border door, presented their case for getting in, and a decision will take a little time. Why let them in until that decision is made?

No, but I've always known that clicking the "YouTube" in the lower right corner does the same thing.

I got in the habit of posting the link along with using our youtube box because the youtube box did not work for rstrong and Seth. I don't think that's true for anyone else here, but I keep it up in case any lurker has the same browser issue.

I skimmed this and the Ex President* Trump threads and couldn't find any of us predicting that TRE45ON would eventually lose the RepuQs over this serious national security breach, but it may finally be happening:

Republicans, Once Outraged by Mar-a-Lago Search, Become Quieter as Details Emerge

Seems that everything the Trumpettes demand - Merrick statement, release of the search warrant, release of the supporting affidavit - hurts their idol more. Is this happenstance or crafty planning by DoJ? Maybe it's happening, but I'm not hearing Trumpette demands to un-redact the affidavit. Funny that....
Maximum transparency hurts TRE45ON and always has.

Now, even RepuQ pols are running for cover. This is what happens when Former PINO can only get C-list lawyers to work for him. So, I say bring the Special Master on. Given Garland's demonstrated competency and Former PINO's incompetency, I'm confident that s/he will rule in DoJ's favor on most or all issues.

Be careful what you wish for, TRE45ON.

Trump's just playing his usual throw up roadblocks and delay delay delay game. After the grandmaster gets finished he'll come up with something else. Maybe his bone spurs are problems again.

Yeah, I think it's only fair that anybody that's playing 3D chess, as trump does, be afforded a Special Master. And if that don't take, let's give him a Grand Special Master Stomp Blaster.

Lots of speculation, but Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, gives it some slight credibility. The reassignment of Assistant Agent in Charge Timothy Thibault has nothing to do with the Mar-a-Lardo raid, though, unless one buys into the FBI=Swamp conspiracy theory.
