Judge went 4-for-5 overall with three runs scored and four RBIs in the Yankees' 12-8 victory.

Judge's 11th multihomer game tied the season record set by Detroit's Hank Greenberg 1938 and matched by the Chicago Cubs' Sammy Sosa in 1998....

With 16 games remaining, Judge has ample time to become only the third AL player to reach 60 home runs. Babe Ruth first did so in 1927, and Roger Maris broke his record -- and for nearly four decades held the major league mark -- with 61 in 1961....

If you're one of the people who really hates the numbers from the 1998-2001 seasons, by all means, believe that Judge has the "clean" record, should he get to 62. It's your right....

Ruth didn't have a choice to play in an integrated league.
Maris didn't have a say over the season length.
The juicers knew that it was cheating, knew that it was wrong, knew that discovery would hurt baseball, and still made the choice to juice.

Any record in any sport can always have woulda coulda shoulda whatif whaddabouts. I see your point, but you do realize that the logic of tinkering with a record using criteria that wasn't present at the time would lead to not giving full credit to a record earned by a Red Sox player because most of his home runs were hit in short field Fenway.

... The MLB Statcast numbers show the fans had reason to be excited. Judge hit the ball with an exit velocity of 113.0 mph and watched it travel 404 feet. It was the hardest-hit and longest-hit ball of the night, in a game that saw two actual homers.
