Holy shit, I didn't see the game and didn't know until I saw the clips that the Damn War Eagles had 1st and goal and ran some silly trick receiver passing play that was picked off!!

Could Blufield actually be trying to get fired? Or one might pose the question - if he were trying to get fired what would he do different?

Wasn't it picked for a 99 yard touchdown? There was so much stupidity, I've mixed some of it up.

I expected to see Mr TJ Interception-man at any time. At least he didn't go there.

I really can't figure out why he has a job today. I guess we've given up on the season and are hoping he finds another team so we won't have to buy out his contract.

New rule, we only score in the 1st quarter.

A win, even a strong win, over another unranked team isn't going to fool the rankers. Fooled them last year, shame on them.

Apparently true, but I'm still a bit surprised over the loss of 4 votes and drop of 4 ranks given all the stumbles by the #15-24 ranked teams. UNC is the Rodney Dangerfield of the FBS, perhaps deservedly so.

Totally deservedly so.
Carolina has had some good teams and many "decent" seasons, but has never been a powerhouse.

But the rankers make up for it when basketball season comes along and vote for the 'Heels no matter who's playing.

As long as we're talking b-ball in the football thread. These know everything, see everything rankers don't even see Auburn's Pearl as a top tier coach. I think that his players, fans and record says different.

Sensitive? Admittedly, this is just the first article I found, but . . .
Top 25 College Basketball Coaches Heading Into 2022-23 Season

11. Bruce Pearl, Auburn

It’s hard to believe Pearl, who previously coached at Tennessee, has now been coaching in the SEC for 15 seasons. One of the most passionate coaches there is, Pearl got Auburn to as high as number one in the AP Poll last season and has another talented Tigers team heading into 2022-23.
4th in the SEC after:
10. Nate Oats, Alabama -0-? but that might sting :P
6. John Calipari, Kentucky, of course
5. Eric Musselman, Arkansas -0-?

Not bad.

Fwiw:
1. Bill Self, Kansas
12. Hubert Davis, North Carolina
15. Dana Altman, Oregon
18. Kevin Willard, Maryland
25. Greg McDermott, Creighton

Duke's newbie doesn't make the list, fair enough.

That's impressive. Both you and the author know more about it than I do, but I'd say that #11 in the nation qualifies as "top tier". I won't defend the order for these 4, but I can see how the author might choose it:

#11 vs #10 is a thin margin. Funny thing, Pearl has a .629 record at Auburn, Oats has a .629 record at AL. They both have similar success and honors, allowing for Pearl's greater longevity.

Calipari is a legend, has a .783 record at Kentucky, and is the only one in the bunch with an NCAA Championship.

Musselman has a .723 record at Arkansas, and has the NBA mystique even if he wasn't very successful.

We'll see how this one guy's prediction holds up, if either of us remember it in Feb and March.
