Younger O Really > Current O ReallyO Really wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 8:03 pmFrom personal history, I should be a Phillies fan, but it's been a long time and I haven't really kept up with them or who's on the team. I'm trying to be a Padres fan, but so far I've gotten to the point where I root for them to win, but don't cry in my beer if they lose. So yeah, either one of those will suit me in the Series, especially if they beat Houston. I do like the Yanks too, though. When I was a kid, we had the Phillies, but they were awful. And the Yanks and Dodgers were going at it every year so most everybody had a pick of those two. Yer either a Dodger or a Yank fan since the Phillies were out of it by August or so most of the time.
0:21We are all the man yelling “you racist piece of sh-t” at Ted Cruz
0:17, I think.I am "You fucking loser!" But we're all on the same side.
“Racist piece of shit! Woman hater! Go back to Cancun!”
Dear yelling dude,
I think I love you.
It was getting cold so he needed to flee.Tweet of the night![]()
He came back. From Texas, THANK YOU!!
Can't stand phony Ted Cruz, but he didn't leave the game in the top of the 6th. The photo below is after Yankee homer in bottom of the 6th. He's still there now in top of the 7th.
And on that note, Astros sweep. He’d better not try showing his face in Philly.![]()
MLB betting, odds: Bettor predicted Astros-Phillies World Series and can win $125,000 if Houston wins
... In April at the start of the baseball season, one bettor at BetMGM bet $50 that the Houston Astros would defeat the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series. The bet had 2,500-to-1 odds. The payout would be $125,000.
... The Phillies did well to even make the playoffs after their start. On June 3rd, Philadelphia was seven games under .500 and fired manager Joe Girardi. Rob Thomson took over and went 65-46 to finish the season. There were a lot of times this season where the Phillies part of this bet didn't look good. However, they got hot at the right time and it's baseball. Here they are.
Hah!Astros favored to win the World Series
While the bettor must be feeling pretty good about their 2,500-to-1 punt, the job isn't done yet. In order to cash the bet, they still need the Astros to take care of business in the World Series. Oddsmakers like their chances.
Currently at BetMGM, the Houston Astros are -185 favorites to win the World Series. The Phillies are a +150 underdog.
However, Philadelphia has been the betting underdog in all three series they've won to this point. The underdog role is nothing new to them. There's an uncanny resemblance to the Philadelphia Eagles of 2018, who won four playoff games as an underdog to win the Super Bowl.
The Astros are just the third team to not lose a playoff game en route to the World Series. The 2007 Colorado Rockies and the 2014 Kansas City Royals are the only other two teams to accomplish this. Both teams lost in the World Series.
Hmmm, a certain $75,000 is nothing to sneeze at. I MIGHT be tempted to hedge.Of course, when you combine the 2,500-to-1 odds the bettor captured and the fact that they are now a significant favorite to win their bet, the bettor has a chance to hedge their bet if they so choose. They're currently risking just $50 to win $125,000.
If the bettor can get their hands on $50,000 in the coming week, they can bet that amount on Philadelphia to win the World Series. That way, no matter what happens, they are profiting $75,000. Of course, most people don't have easy access to that kind of money. Maybe they're confident in the Astros and they'll just let it ride. Either way, they're in a good spot to win a significant chunk of change off a $50 investment.
Elitist fat cats
Agreed.
Opps, Astro's catcher Martin Maldonado was born in Puerto Rico, thus negating the article's premise ... by a single player. Will the next Hank Aaron never consider baseball because he didn't see more American-born role models in the WS?

He needs to change his surname to Mendoza, lifetime batting average of .209.
Ow.
The New York Times described him in October 2021, following a season in which Maldonado batted .172, as “arguably the worst hitter in baseball,” and Sports Illustrated wrote that "he quite possibly could be the worst-hitting everyday player in MLB history.
Distinguished Cubs career. Sixteen days, 0-11 at the plate.
Bottom 3rd: Just had to jinx them, didn't you?
Go Pirates!
