The Mighty Wildkitties.
It's a Back to the Future year this year, reminding me of the good old days when and if they got a win it was cause for celebration.
Chicago is pretty much a professional sports town, didn't really follow college sports growing up. Still mostly don't.
On September 25, 1982 in my first apartment with a couple of buddies two of us were hanging out (probably doing bongs hits) listening to the the Northwestern game as myself and that roomies were night students there. The Kitties had a whopping 34 game losing streak at that point but were winning the game. So the natural thing to do was hop in the car and catch the 4th quarter (that was a cool apartment, literally the last
northern street of Chicago before Evanston and right on Lake Michigan. We had really good parties)

Somewhere in the video vaults of WBBM TV there's footage of me celebrating like an idiot. We didn't accompany the goalposts down to the lake after the win though, left that for the real students.
